The Mid North Coast Zone Swimming Carnival was on Monday February 26 at Coffs Harbour Olympic Pool, and Bellingen High School had over 30 students compete at the carnival - the largest contingent for a number of years.

Many were young swimmers and impressed with their ability and enthusiasm.
There were many highlights on the day:
- Rebecca Hodgson qualified for North Coast Carnival in six events and was 15 years girls Champion on the day
- Yasmin Ball qualified for North Coast Carnival in five individual events and was 12 years girls Champion on the day
- Bonnie Malt qualified for North Coast Carnival in two individual events and was 12 years girls Runner-up Champion on the day
- Ricky Cleary qualified for North Coast Carnival in three individual events and was 13 years boys runner-up Champion on the day
- Four other swimmers – Eve Fortin, Jackson Rose, Orla Carey and Kaia Van Heuvel all qualified in one individual event for the North Coast Carnival
- Four relay teams qualified through to the North Coast Carnival: Boys 13 years relay – 2nd; Girls All Age relay – 2nd; Girls 12 years relay – 1st; Girls 15 years relay – 1st.
This means that 14 students from BHS will compete at the North Coast Carnival in Murwillumbah on Tuesday March 6.
Bellingen HS finished in fourth position, out of nine schools in our zone, which is the best result in MNC for over 15 years.
This result was achieved by the many swimmers that did their best in all their events.
