Marsoulas, Niaux,Gargas, and Mas dAzil. Ma7soulas.—This cavern is situated in the south of thedepartment of Haute Garonne, near Salies-du-Salut. Ithas been long known, and was partially excavated as farback as 1881. Signs of paintings on the walls were noticedby M. Regnault in 1897, but it was not until 1902, andsubsequently, that the cave was carefully explored byMM. Cartailhac and Breuil. The drawings begin muchnearer the entrance
