From the Classifieds: $7.4m LaFerrari becomes priciest car on carsales

A Sydney dealership has advertised one of the most expensive vehicles ever to hit our classifieds

UPDATED 01/06/2022 3:30pm: This spectacular 2015 LaFerrari has now been delisted and is presumed sold.

ORIGINAL ARTICLE PUBLISHED 31/05/2022: The Ferrari LaFerrari is one of the fastest, most exclusive and most sought-after road-legal models ever produced by the Maranello brand.

And now a pristine example of the breed has been listed at carsales.com.au, offering any well-heeled Aussie with a few million to spare the chance to own one.

Advertised this week for a mind-boggling $7,425,000, the 2015 LaFerrari you see here has a measly 3150km on the clock and is described as being in ‘impeccable’ condition.

The Sydney-based dealership responsible for its sale only posted four photos of the rare machine, along with a short description: ‘This stunning LaFerrari is painted in Rosso Scuderia and has been serviced annually since 2014. The impeccable interior is specified in the traditional tan leather with red piping. Price is inclusive of all local taxes except for on road costs’.

It’s unclear whether it’s the very same example advertised on carsales for $4.5 million in 2020, which was beaten in (advertised) price only by a 2014 example also sold on carsales back in 2018.

Just 499 LaFerrari coupes were built between June 2013 and January 2016, each priced at more than a million Euros, followed by 210 examples of the LaFerrari Aperta convertible between October 2016 and August 2018.

Replacing the iconic Ferrari Enzo, the F150 LaFerrari (which means ‘the Ferrari’ in Italian) first appeared at the 2013 Geneva motor show, based around a carbon-fibre tub and powered by a mild-hybrid 588kW 6.3-litre V12 and a 120kW electric motor that, together, delivered an eye-watering 708kW/900Nm.

At the time, Ferrari said it was enough to propel the 1255kg limited-edition hypercar to 100km/h in 2.6 seconds, 200km/h in less than 6.9sec, 300km/h in 15sec and a top speed of 352km/h.

And now, for a cool $7.4 million, this extremely rare F1-inspired prancing horse hypercar can be all yours.
