1977 Toyota Corolla SR5 Liftback 5-Speed

This 1977 Toyota Corolla SR5 liftback was originally sold by Toyota of Greenville, South Carolina and is said to have been kept on display in a New Jersey dealership before being acquired by the seller in 2020. The car is finished in orange over black vinyl, and power is provided by a 1.6-liter inline-four paired with a five-speed manual transmission. Equipment includes air conditioning, 13″ mag-type wheels, and an AM/FM stereo. An oil change was performed and the front struts, idler arms, and pitman arms were replaced in October 2020. This TE51 is now offered with a window sticker, factory literature, and a clean New Jersey title in the seller’s name.

The car is finished in Orange (352) with black and white pinstripes along with SR5 badging, bodyside moldings, and chrome bumpers with rubber overriders and end caps. Dents are noted on the right quarter panel and rear hatch, and a blemish on the driver-side taillight housing can be seen in the gallery.

Factory 13″ mag-type wheels wear trim rings and are wrapped in 185/70 Toyo Spectrum Touring Radial tires. The front struts were replaced along with the idler and pitman arms in October 2020.

The seating surfaces are upholstered in black vinyl with cloth inserts and the cabin features a matching dashboard, center console, door panels, and carpets. Amenities include air conditioning, an AM/FM stereo, and an analog clock. A crack in the dashboard and wear on the driver’s seat are visible in the photo gallery.

A four-spoke steering wheel frames an 8k-rpm tachometer and a 115-mph speedometer. The five-digit mechanical odometer shows 56k miles, though total mileage is unknown.

The 1.6-liter 2T-C inline-four is equipped with a single downdraft carburetor and was factory rated at 75 horsepower and 86 lb-ft of torque. An oil change was performed in October 2020.

Power is delivered to the rear wheels via a five-speed manual transmission and a differential with a 4.10:1 gear ratio. Corrosion is present on the exhaust system and suspension components as shown in additional underbody photos in the gallery.

The window sticker lists the standard and optional equipment along with a total retail price of $4,636.
