Jamaican-born motivational speaker and Author, Alvin Day, will present his life-changing principles to some three thousand Jamaicans from the County of Cornwall on Thursday, January 24. Under the theme: “I Believe I Can Fly: A New Day in JA” the Conference will be held at the West Jamaica Conference Centre of the Seventh-day Adventist Church beginning at 1 p.m. Custodes, Justices of the Peace, church, business and other community leaders, and youth from across the County of Cornwall, will be in attendance.

Governor-General Sir Patrick Allen, who is Patron of the event, will deliver the opening address. The Governor-General‟s patronage reflects the synergies between the message of hope and belief in self which his „I Believe‟ Initiative promotes, and the transformational message of Alvin Day‟s book entitled, “If Caterpillars Can Fly so Can I.”

Spearheaded by the Hon. Ewen Corrodus, Custos Rotulorum for St. James, the event is supported by Custos Paul Muschett of Trelawny, Custos David Stair of Hanover, Custos Wilfred Nembhard of St. Elizabeth and Custos Hartley Perrin of Westmoreland.

Alvin Day emerged from an economically challenging childhood in Jamaica to become an internationally renowned Management Consultant, Author, Inspirational Speaker and Seminar Director. He is committed to taking his transformational message to other venues across Jamaica as his gift to the land of his birth, to engage Jamaicans in more positive approaches to individual and national growth, for “a new day in JA”.
