Game changer
Sarah3434· Review provided by nordstrom.com · October 2, 2024
Ok so I originally bought this for the sunrise feature as someone who is not a morning person it’s been really nice! I usually wake up before the alarm even goes off. I think the light could be a little brighter but it still does the job and is brighter than I thought it would be. The unexpected part of the hatch that I LOVE is the unwind routine. I do have to pay monthly membership fees for this feature but it’s so worth it. I deal with a little bit of insomnia and raving thoughts at night but I have a body scan, meditation, and bed time story that plays every night and it has changed my sleep habits completely my mind is quite by the end of it and then I fall asleep like a normal person. If you’re on the fence and wouldn’t pay for the membership and just want to sunrise feature you could probably buy a different cheaper alarm that can do the same thing. If you have trouble sleeping and are willing to pay the pretty inexpensive membership fee then absolutely get this!!! It’s also way easier to use than a manual alarm clock. As a super ADHD girly who has trouble with routine this is a game changer. Buy it lol
[Rewarded Review] Complete waste of money and overly complicated.

This alarm clock plays brown noise which is helpful, but there are zero wake-up sounds that actually wake me up. Everything is soothing and relaxing and lulls me back to sleep. The one energizing playlist they have is EDM music with a terrifying DJ voice that would startle me awake in a horrible way. It’s not that difficult to build a sound machine, and alarm clock that both puts people to sleep and adequately wakes them up. The entire machine also feels cheaply made for the price. For example. I have the clock face set to show up when tapped and i have to do so at least 5 times. It also feels like light-weight cheaply made plastic. Not to mention it’s $5 a month for more sound options…. What sound options? Still slim picking and for the price it should be possible to upload different sounds/music. Don’t love that it also needs wifi to function properly.

Extremely disappointed and will be looking for an alternative. There’s no reason this unit should be more than $40.
[Rewarded Review] Paywall for most features

Can't quite give it one star, but it is close. Seems well built, but that is the end of the positives. App is clunky and necessary. Many features are paywalled behind a $50 a year subscription; most of which are pretty useless, but it makes navigating the app even more difficult. Cannot simply turn on the light without using the app and doing so erased my evening routine, which I was unable to edit without subscribing after adding it again. It now starts with an incredibly loud white noise, which I am unable to save in the settings without subscribing.
There are no physical buttons to adjust volume, they are touch operated and hidden to the left and right of the clock display, you have to hunt around to find them. Not worth the money, glad I got it on sale, but would not buy again. Currently shopping for an alternative.
disappointing

For how expensive this is, it’s crazy that the product is so bad. From day 1, the soundscapes would make skipping noises that sound like a cd skipping. All my attempts to reset and troubleshoot didn’t work. Hatch support said they’d send a new power cable but that’s not the issue I’m complaining about. Also, the app is very confusing (and I work in tech!) and the sound options are extremely limited. For the upfront cost as well as the monthly fees, we should have an abundance of options like the Calm app. Will be returning, which is sad because I was genuinely excited for the product.
