Grow in an open bark-based orchid compost with addition of perlite, sphagnum moss or coir. Provide enough bright filtered light, but keep away from direct sunlight or a heating source. Ideal temperatures are around 15°C minimum at night and up to maximum 25 °C during day.

Brassia will flower naturally in the parameters of late winter to late summer, producing up to eight flowers per stalk. Each flower can last up to three weeks with the overall show surfacing around six to eight weeks.

Brassia species and its popular hybrids are common in cultivation, and are notable for the characteristic long and spreading tepals (in some clones longer than 50 cm), which lend them the common name spider orchid.

Brassia is a genus included in the Oncidium alliance. in other words, it shares many characteristics with other members of the Oncidium alliance, including the actual genus Oncidium. if the vendor sold it as a Brassia, then it probably is.
