さらに、第2の過電流検出手段は、発振手段から出力される矩形波電圧の波高値に基づいて測定電流の過電流を検出するようにした。
このため、本発明によれば、導線に過電流が流れた場合に、発振手段の停止の有無にかかわらずその過電流を検出できる。しかも、この本発明によれば、過電流が流れた場合に、広い検出範囲において精度良く過電流の検出を行うことができる。
〔実施形態の構成〕
図1は、本発明の電流検出装置の実施形態の構成を示す図である。図2は、図1の各部の構成を具体化した図である。図3は、発振回路の具体的な構成を示す回路図である。
この実施形態に係る電流検出装置は、図1に示すように、導線1a、1bに流れる電流Ia、Ibの差である測定電流Iを検出するものであり、導線1a、1bの回りにリング状の磁気コア2が配設されている。つまり、磁気コア2内に導線1a、1bが挿通されている。
なお、発振回路4、デューティ検出回路5のそれぞれは、本発明の発振手段、電流検出手段に相当する。また、周波数検出回路7、発振振幅検出回路6のそれぞれは、本発明の第1の過電流検出手段、第2の過電流検出手段に相当する。
発振回路4は、後述のように、設定したしきい値に応じて、磁気コア2を飽和状態またはその近傍の状態で、励磁コイル3に供給する励磁電流の磁性を反転させる矩形波電圧を発生する。
周波数検出回路7は、後述のように、発振回路4の出力電圧Vaの周波数に基づいて測定電流Iが第2の過電流か否かを検出し、第2の過電流を検出したときにその旨を示すハイレベルの信号をオア回路9aに出力する。
オア回路9aは、周波数検出回路7の出力信号と発振振幅回路6の出力信号の論理和処理をし、この処理結果をオア回路9bに出力する。また、オア回路9bは、デューティ検出回路5の出力信号とオア回路9aの出力信号との論理和処理をする。
デューティ検出回路5は、図2に示すように、デューティ比検出回路51と、比較回路52とを備えている。
デューティ比検出回路51は、発振回路4から出力される出力電圧Vaのデューティ比を検出する。比較回路52は、デューティ比検出回路51が検出したデューティ比を予め定めた基準値と比較し、そのデューティ比が基準値以下になったときに過大電流を検出した旨を示すハイレベルの信号を出力する。
ハイパスフィルタ回路71は、発振回路4から出力される出力電圧Vaをフィルタ処理して出力する。絶対値検出回路72は、ハイパスフィルタ回路71の出力電圧の絶対値を検出する。比較回路73は、絶対値検出回路72が検出した絶対値を予め定めてある基準電圧V1と比較し、その絶対値が基準電圧V1以上になったときに過大電流を検出した旨を示す信号としてハイレベルの信号を出力する。
絶対値検出回路61は、発振回路4から出力される出力電圧Vaの絶対値(波高値)を検出する。比較回路62は、絶対値検出回路61が検出した絶対値を予め定めである基準電圧V2と比較し、その絶対値が基準電圧V2以下になったときに過大電流を検出した旨を示す信号としてハイレベルの信号を出力する。
次に、実施形態の動作例について、図面を参照して説明する。
(発振回路の動作)
まず、発振回路4の動作について、図3を参照して説明する。
この発振回路4では、分圧抵抗13及び14の接続点Eの閾値電圧Vthがオペアンプ11の非反転入力側に供給されており、この閾値電圧Vthと励磁コイル3及び抵抗12との接続点Dの電圧Vdとが比較されて、その比較出力が矩形波の出力電圧Vaとして出力側から出力される(例えば図9(b)~(d)参照)。
このとき、閾値電圧Vthは、出力電圧Vaがローレベルになっているので、閾値電圧Vthも低い電圧となる。そして、接続点Dの電圧Vdが励磁コイル3の励磁電流ILの減少に応じて減少し、閾値電圧Vthを下回ると、オペアンプ11の出力電圧Vaは図9(b)~(d)に示すようにハイレベルに反転する。
このような動作により、発振回路4の出力電圧Vaは、図9(b)~(d)に示すように、ハイレベルとローレベルを交互に繰り返す矩形波電圧となり、発振回路4は非安定マルチバイブレータとして動作する。そして、励磁コイル3の励磁電流は、図9(a)に示すように、増加と減少を交互に繰り返す鋸歯状波電流となる。
次に、磁気コア2と発振回路4との関係について説明する。
ここで、磁気コア2のB-H特性は、実際には図4の実線で示すようにヒステリシスを有する。しかし、説明をわかり易くするために、磁気コア2のB-H特性は、図4の破線で示すヒステリシスの中心値の特性を有するものとする。
また、励磁コイル3のインダクタンスLは、次の式で表すことができる。
上式によれば、励磁コイル3のインダクタンスLは透磁率μに比例するため、図5(b)は励磁電流ILとインダクタンスLとの関係を表す特性曲線とみることもできる。測定電流I=0の場合には、図5(b)の動作範囲は実線の太線部分であるため、励磁コイル3のインダクタンスLは、ほぼ一定値(L0)となる。
このため、測定電流I=0のときには、励磁コイル3の励磁電流ILは図9(a)の実線のようになり、発振回路4の出力電圧は図9(b)の実線のようになる。
この電流I1は、導線1aを流れる電流Iaと、導線1bに流れる電流Ibの差の電流であり、漏電や地絡に対応する電流である。電流I1が流れると、電流I1による磁界H1が磁気コア2内に発生する。この磁界H1により、磁気コア2のB-H特性曲線は、図6(a)のように、測定電流I=0のときの磁界Hに対して磁界H1の分だけシフトした特性曲線となる。
この結果、測定電流Iが0からI1の範囲では、発振回路4の矩形波電圧である出力電圧Vaのデューティ比が、測定電流I(電流Iaと電流Ibの差の電流値)に応じて変化する。
そのため、励磁電流ILは、立ち上がりおよび立ち下がりのいずれの場合も、測定電流I=0の場合に比べて早くなる。このため、励磁コイル3の励磁電流ILは図9(a)の一点鎖線のようになり、発振回路4の出力電圧Vaは図9(d)の一点鎖線のようになる。
測定電流Iがこのような検出領域になると、発振回路4の矩形波からなる出力電圧Vaの発振周波数fは、次式より求めることができ、測定電流I=0の場合の発振周波数fにくらべて高くなる。

その後、測定電流IがI2 よりもさらに大きなI3 になると、磁気コア2は図8に示すように完全飽和領域になり、励磁コイル3のインダクタンスLはほぼ零となり、発振回路4は発振が不可能となって発振を停止する。
(1)測定電流I=0のとき
このときには、発振回路4の出力電圧(矩形波電圧)Vaは、図9(b)の実線のように、ハイレベルとローレベルは1:1のデューティ比になる。
このときには、発振回路4の出力電圧Vaは、図9(c)の点線のようになり、そのデューティ比が測定電流I(電流Iaと電流Ibの差の電流値)に応じて変化する。したがって、この範囲では、発振回路4の出力電圧Vaのデューティ比を検出することにより、測定電流Iを検出できる。
このときには、発振回路4の出力電圧Vaは、図9(d)の一点鎖線のようになり、その発振周波数が測定電流I=0の場合に比べて高くなる。さらに、発振回路4の出力電圧Vaの波高値(振幅)が減少するようになる。したがって、この範囲では、発振回路4の出力電圧Vaの周波数または振幅を検出することにより、測定電流Iを検出できる。
このように、測定電流Iと発振回路4の出力電圧Vaには上記の(1)~(4)の関係がある。
そこで、この実施形態では、(2)(3)の関係を利用して測定電流Iが過大電流であるか否を検出するようにし、このため、発振回路4の後段にデューティ検出回路5、周波数検出回路7、および発振振幅検出回路6をそれぞれ設けている(図1、図3参照)。
次に、デューティ検出回路5、周波数検出回路7、および発振振幅検出回路6のそれぞれの動作について、図1を参照して説明する。
まず、測定電流Iが0からI1 の範囲のときには、デューティ検出回路5の動作が有効である。
すなわち、デューティ検出回路5は、発振回路4の出力電圧Vaのハイレベル期間およびローレベル期間をそれぞれ測定し、この測定結果を基に出力電圧Vaのデューティ比を検出し、この検出結果に基づいて測定電流Iを検出する。また、デューティ検出回路5は、検出したデューティ比に基づいて測定電流Iが第1の過電流か否を検出し、第1の過電流を検出したときにその旨を示すハイレベルの信号をオア回路9bに出力する。
すなわち、周波数検出回路7は、発振回路4から出力される出力電圧Vaの周波数を基に測定電流Iが第2の過電流か否かを検出し、第2の過電流を検出したときにその旨を示すハイレベルの信号をオア回路9aに出力する。
オア回路9aは、周波数検出回路7の出力信号と発振振幅回路6の出力信号の論理和処理をし、この処理結果をオア回路9bに出力する。また、オア回路9bは、デューティ検出回路5の出力信号とオア回路9aの出力信号との論理和処理をする。
さらに具体的には、図2に示すように、デューティ比検出回路51は、発振回路4から出力される出力電圧Vaのハイレベル期間およびローレベル期間をそれぞれ測定し、この測定結果を基にデューティ比を検出する。比較回路52は、デューティ比検出回路51が検出したデューティ比を予め定めてある基準値と比較し、そのデューティ比が基準値以下になったときに、測定電流Iが第1の過電流である旨を示すハイレベルの信号をオア回路9bに出力する。
絶対値検出回路72は、ハイパスフィルタ回路71の出力電圧の絶対値を検出する。比較回路73は、絶対値検出回路72が検出した絶対値を、第2の過電流に対応して予め定めてある基準電圧V1と比較し、その絶対値が基準電圧V1以上になったときに測定電流Iが第2の過電流である旨を示すハイレベルの信号をオア回路9aに出力する。
オア回路9aは、比較回路73の出力信号と比較回路62の出力信号の論理和処理をし、この処理結果をオア回路9bに出力する。このため、オア回路9bは、比較回路52、比較回路62、比較回路73のうちの何れかの1つからハイレベルの信号が入力されると、測定電流Iが過電流である旨を示す正式な信号としてハイレベルの信号を出力する。
以上のように、この実施形態では、測定電流Iが0からI1の範囲のときは、デューティ検出回路5が、発振回路4の出力電圧Vaのデューティ比を検出し、この検出を基に第1の過電流を検出をするようにした。
また、この実施形態では、測定電流IがI1からI2の範囲のときには、周波数検出回路7が、発振回路4の出力電圧Vaの発振周波数の変化を基に第2の過電流を検出することに加え、発振振幅検出回路6が、その出力電圧Vaの振幅の変化を基に第3の過電流を検出するようにした。
このため、この実施形態によれば、導線1a、1bの少なくとも一方に過電流が流れた場合に、発振回路4の発振停止の有無にかかわらずその過電流を検出できる。しかも、この実施形態によれば、過電流が流れた場合に、広い検出範囲において精度良く過電流の検出を行うことができる。
しかも、上記の従来例のように磁気センサなどを使用することなく電流の検出が可能であるので、堅牢で、周囲環境条件により影響を受けることの少ない電流検出装置を提供することができる。
(1)上記の実施形態では、2本の導線1a、1bを用いて、これらに流れる電流の差の電流を検出する場合について説明したが、本発明はこれに限定されるものではなく、1本の導線に流れる微小電流を検出する場合にも適用できる。
(2)上記の実施形態では、2つのオア回路9a、9bを使用するようにしたが、これを1つのオア回路に置き換えることができる。この場合には、デューティ検出回路5、発振振幅検出回路6、および周波数検出回路7の各出力信号が、1つのオア回路に入力されて処理される。
(3)上記の実施形態において、デューティ検出回路5、発振振幅検出回路6、および周波数検出回路7のそれぞれの出力信号を使用し、その信号ごとに例えばランプを点灯するようにすれば、過電流の検出状態を目視で認識できて便宜である。
Claims (8)
- 測定電流が流れる導線を囲む磁気コアに巻回した励磁コイルと、
設定したしきい値に応じて、前記磁気コアを飽和状態またはその近傍の状態で、前記励磁コイルに供給する励磁電流の磁性を反転させる矩形波電圧を発生する発振手段と、
前記発振手段から出力される前記矩形波電圧のデューティ変化に基づいて前記測定電流を検出する電流検出手段と、
前記発振手段から出力される前記矩形波電圧の周波数に基づいて前記測定電流の過電流を検出する第1の過電流検出手段と、
前記発振手段から出力される前記矩形波電圧の波高値に基づいて前記測定電流の過電流を検出する第2の過電流検出手段と、
を備えることを特徴とする電流検出装置。 - 前記電流検出手段は、前記矩形波電圧のデューティ変化を検出し、当該検出結果により前記測定電流の第1の過電流を検出し、
前記第1の過電流検出手段は、前記矩形波電圧の周波数の変化を検出し、当該検出結果により前記測定電流の第2の過電流を検出し、
前記第2の過電流検出手段は、前記矩形波電圧の波高値の変化を検出し、当該検出結果により前記測定電流の第3の過電流を検出することを特徴とする請求項1に記載の電流検出装置。 - 前記電流検出手段が前記測定電流の第1の過電流を検出し、前記第1の過電流検出手段が前記測定電流の第2の過電流を検出し、または前記第2の過電流検出手段が前記測定電流の第3の過電流を検出したときに、前記測定電流が過電流である旨を出力する出力手段を、さらに備えることを特徴とする請求項2に記載の電流検出装置。
- 測定電流が流れる導線を囲む磁気コアに巻回した励磁コイルと、
設定したしきい値に応じて、前記磁気コアを飽和状態またはその近傍の状態で、前記励磁コイルに供給する励磁電流の磁性を反転させる矩形波電圧を発生する発振手段と、
前記発振手段から出力される前記矩形波電圧のデューティ比を検出し、当該検出結果により前記測定電流が第1の過電流であることを検出する電流検出手段と、
前記発振手段から出力される前記矩形波電圧の周波数の変化を検出し、当該検出結果により前記測定電流が第2の過電流であることを検出する第1の過電流検出手段と、
前記発振手段から出力される前記矩形波電圧の波高値の変化を検出し、当該検出結果により前記測定電流が第3の過電流であることを検出する第2の過電流検出手段と、
を備えることを特徴とする電流検出装置。 - 前記電流検出手段は、
前記発振手段から出力される前記矩形波電圧のデューティ比を検出するデューティ比検出回路と、
デューティ比検出回路が検出したデューティ比を予め定めた基準値と比較し、前記デューティ比が前記基準値以下になったときに前記測定電流が第1の過電流であることを検出した旨の信号を出力する第1の比較回路と、
を備えることを特徴とする請求項4に記載の電流検出装置。 - 前記第1の過電流検出手段は、
前記発振手段から出力される前記矩形波電圧をフィルタ処理するハイパスフィルタ回路と、
前記ハイパスフィルタ回路の出力の絶対値を検出する第1の絶対値検出回路と、
前記第1の絶対値検出回路が検出した絶対値を予め定めた第1の基準値と比較し、前記絶対値が前記第1の基準値以上になったときに前記測定電流が第2の過大電流であることを検出した旨の信号を出力する第2の比較回路と、
を備えることを特徴とする請求項4または請求項5に記載の電流検出装置。 - 前記第2の過電流検出手段は、
前記発振手段から出力される前記矩形波電圧の絶対値を検出する第2の絶対値検出回路と、
前記第2の絶対値検出回路が検出した絶対値を予め定めた第2の基準値と比較し、前記絶対値が前記第2の基準値以下になったときに前記測定電流が第3の過大電流であることを検出した旨の信号を出力する第3の比較回路と、
を備えることを特徴とする請求項4乃至請求項6のうちのいずれか1項に記載の電流検出装置。 - 前記第1の比較回路の出力信号、前記第2の比較回路の出力信号、および前記第3の比較回路の出力信号を入力するオア回路を、さらに備え、
前記出力信号のそれぞれはハイレベルの信号であることを特徴とする請求項7に記載の電流検出装置。
