Abstract

The invention relates to a computer-aided device (1) for storing ancillary material (2) needed for a surgical operation, particularly in dental implantology or stomatology, which is to be carried out by a practitioner (3) on a patient (4), said device comprising a stand (6) provided with drawers (7) and with a work surface (8). The device comprises a computer containing a list of the types of interventions, a list of the instruments, a list of the consumables and a list of the equipment, and also a program for creating an intervention list, composed of the list of instruments, consumables and equipment needed for a specific intervention, and for assigning said intervention list to a drawer (7) of said stand (6) with a view to storing the instruments, consumables and equipment on said intervention list in said drawer, once information concerning storage of the elements on said list has been given to it by an operator. The invention also concerns a method for storage of ancillary material (2) using a device (1) according to the invention.

Description

Device for storing ancillary equipment necessary for a surgical operation.

Field of the invention

The invention relates to a device in the field of the practice of dental implantology and stomatology.

It relates more particularly to a computer-assisted operating support device, enabling optimization of the organization, asepsis, traceability of all the instruments and consumables necessary for a surgical intervention.

State of the prior art

Currently, there is no technical solution of operating surfaces adapted to the practice of dental implantology or stomatology.

Some practitioners use dressing trolleys, which are bulky or large bridging tables, designed for operating theaters.

Others use kitchen trolleys, or fixed dental office furniture.

These elements are nevertheless placed too far from the work center, and in unsuitable places.

Presentation of the invention

The present invention proposes to remedy at least some of the aforementioned drawbacks and proposes a solution that makes it possible to improve the organization of dental implantology and stomatology practitioners.

For this purpose, the invention relates to a computer-assisted device for storing ancillary equipment necessary for a surgical operation, in particular for dental implantology or stomatology, to be performed by a practitioner on a patient, comprising a servant provided with drawers and at least one work plan. The device is particular in that it comprises a computer comprising a list of intervention types, a list of instruments, a list of consumables and a list of equipment, as well as a program able to create an intervention list, consisting of the list of instruments, consumables and equipment necessary for a given intervention, and associating said intervention list with a drawer of said maid to store the instruments, consumables and equipment of said intervention list in said drawer, as soon as information of storage of the elements of said list has been given to it by an operator.

According to other characteristics:

said working plane may comprise sliding extensions capable of giving it an L shape, so that the practitioner may be partially surrounded by said work plane

- Said maid can be movable by rolling on the ground and adjustable in height; this allows him to be easily moved to the place of preparation, then to the operating room, and to adapt to the size of the practitioner

said servant may also include a drawer for storing consumables; this can help in case of additional need of consumables

- each element of the intervention list can be identified by a number, corresponding to the name of the instrument, the consumable or the equipment, and by a letter corresponding to the name of the practitioner intended to carry out the intervention; this double identification facilitates the use of the device according to the invention

- the identification of the instruments can be materialized on a ring or a silicone ring

- the identification of consumables and equipment can be materialized on a sticker tape

said computer may comprise a tablet PC or a touch screen; it can be connected by cable to the computer outside the operating room

- The tablet PC or the touch screen can be connected by wifi to a central unit that contains said program; this avoids cables

The present invention also consists of a method for storing ancillary equipment necessary for a surgical operation, in particular dental implantology or stomatology using a device according to the invention. This method is particular in that it comprises the following steps:

- establishment of the intervention list for the said operation

storing the elements of said intervention list in an intervention drawer of said maid

validation at the computer level of each element of said intervention list as they are stored in said intervention drawer

- validation at the computer level of the intervention list associated with said drawer

- drawer closure

- computer-only control inventory, without opening the drawer positioning of said maid on the patient at the level of his thorax, so that said work plane bypasses the practitioner to the level of his back

- call of the elements necessary for the intervention by the computer and information concerning the patient

- the computer indicates the drawer to open, or opens it automatically, and takes into account the output of the called elements.

The advantage of the present invention lies in particular in that during a surgical operation, it allows the practitioner to facilitate and optimize his work by canceling unnecessary movements and gestures.

detailed description

As shown in Figures 1 to 3 of the attached drawing, the present invention relates to a device 1 for storing ancillary material 2 necessary for a surgical operation, in particular dental implantology or stomatology, to be performed by a practitioner 3 on a patient 4, in the presence of an assistant 5. It comprises a servant 6, provided with drawers 7, five drawers 7 in the example shown, a worktop 8 with sliding extensions 9. It can also there are several work plans. A computer not shown includes a list of types of interventions, a list of instruments, a list of consumables and a list of equipment, and a program for creating a list of intervention, consisting of the list of instruments, consumables and equipment necessary for a specific intervention. A touch screen 10 is connected to this computer, and serves as a manual control member. It allows for example during operation, to consult the patient's file 4, or to solicit equipment stored in the drawer 7. A such solicitation can be done for example by a pedal, connected by wire or not to the computer. When such equipment is requested, the computer verifies that it is part of the intervention list, then authorizes the opening of the drawer 7 assigned to the intervention. It can also be content to identify the drawer 7 concerned. It can finally open automatically said drawer 7. It then keeps in memory that said equipment has been removed from the drawer 7.

The computer is the screen can be connected to the maid 6 by son, but also by wireless communication, for example wifi type. We can equip all of a voice recognition device for entering lists.

The maid 6 also includes wheels 1 1, allowing it to be mobile rolling on the ground. It finally includes at least one shelf 12, allowing the practitioner 3 to deposit an item to resume later.

The device can be configured to allow use by both right-handed and left-handed users.

Preparing an intervention includes the following steps:

validation at the computer level of each element of said intervention list as they are stored in said intervention drawer 7

- validation at the computer level of the intervention list associated with said intervention drawer 7

- closing drawer 7

During the operation, the practitioner 3 will perform the following steps:

- Computer-only control inventory, without opening the drawer 7 - positioning of said servant 6 on the patient 4 at his chest, so that said work plane 8 bypasses the practitioner 3 to the level of his back (see fig. 3)

- Calling the elements necessary for the intervention by the touch screen 10, as well as information about the patient 4

The computer then indicates the drawer 7 to open and allows opening or opens automatically, and takes into account the output of called elements.

The computer can also be content to indicate the drawer 7 to open, the opening then being done manually by the practitioner 3 or by the assistant 5.

Backing up data from the hard disk of the computer acts as a traceability. Thus, the patient file including the intervention lists will be kept indefinitely. It is an essential, essential trace of sterilization of instruments and biocompatible materials used.

The device 1 according to the invention makes it possible to technically prove and certify that the operations performed are in accordance with the data acquired from the science. This is proof of the proper application of procedures and protocols.

By integrating in the software the date of the first use of the instrument, it is then easy to perform the wear control of small instruments (forests, strawberries, ...). This makes it possible to renew them at the appropriate time, because the software will indicate the number of uses.

At the end of the year it is easy to establish activity statistics, thanks to the percentage of use of the instruments.

The advantage of the present invention lies in particular in that during a surgical operation, it allows the practitioner 3 to facilitate and optimize his work by canceling unnecessary movements and gestures. Indeed all the material is precisely available at the workplace. It saves time and can increase the number of interventions per day without reducing reliability. On the contrary, the reliability is increased, the device fulfilling a guide function, imposing a rigor, and thus avoiding errors.

In surgery, the fluidity of the gestures is a requirement. The device according to the invention is an ideal tool to achieve this. It allows to focus on the essential, the accessory being provided by the device. This improves performance and efficiency.

It also reduces the practitioner's stress. It is considered in surgery that the human factor intervenes for 3% failure rate. The device according to the invention reduces this rate by half.

The device according to the invention improves the working comfort, as well as the safety with respect to the contamination.

In addition, it allows rationalization, reproducibility, and organization based on preoperative preparation. This results in optimization, ergonomic work, safety and a rationalization of working conditions. Indeed the device according to the invention provides a list of operations, constituting a guide for the practitioner. Such a list can also be used in continuing education for surgeons, and allow beginners to arrive quickly to ensure interventions safely. Finally, the device according to the invention makes it possible to anticipate the use of consumables, and thus optimize inventory management. One can foresee an automatic edition of orders, that there is then only to send to the supplier.

The invention is particularly suitable and useful for dental implantology or stomatology operations, but it can be used also for other types of surgical operations.

Although the invention has been described with respect to a particular embodiment, it is understood that it is in no way limited and that various modifications of shapes, materials and combinations thereof can be made. various elements without departing from the scope and spirit of the invention.

Claims

1. Computer-assisted device (1) for storing ancillary equipment (2) necessary for a surgical operation, in particular for dental implantology or stomatology, to be performed by a practitioner (3) on a patient (4), comprising a servant (6) provided with drawers (7) and a worktop (8), characterized in that it comprises a computer comprising a list of types of interventions, a list of instruments, a list of consumables and a list equipment, and a program capable of creating an intervention list, consisting of the list of instruments, consumables and equipment necessary for a given intervention, and associating said intervention list with a drawer (7) of said maid (6) for storing the instruments, consumables and equipment of said intervention list in said drawer, as soon as information of storage of the elements of said list has been given to him by an operator.

2. Device (1) according to claim 1, wherein said work plane (8) comprises sliding extensions (9) adapted to give it an L-shape, so that the practitioner (3) can be partially surrounded by said work plan (8).

3. Device (1) according to one of the preceding claims, wherein said maid (6) is movable by rolling on the ground and adjustable in height.

4. Device (1) according to one of the preceding claims, wherein said maid (6) further comprises a drawer (7) for storing consumables.

Device (1) according to one of the preceding claims, wherein each element of the intervention list is identified by a number corresponding to the name of the instrument, the consumable or the equipment, and by a letter corresponding to the name of the practitioner (3) planned to carry out the intervention.

6. Device (1) according to the preceding claim, wherein the identification of the instruments is materialized on a ring or a silicone ring.

7. Device (1) according to one of claims 5 or 6, wherein the identification of consumables and equipment is materialized on a self-adhesive tape.

8. Device (1) according to one of the preceding claims, wherein said computer comprises a tablet PC or a touch screen (10). Device (1) according to the preceding claim, wherein said tablet PC or said touch screen (10) is connected in wifi to a central unit that contains said program.

Method for storing ancillary equipment (2) necessary for a surgical operation, in particular for dental implantology or stomatology, using a device (1) according to one of the preceding claims, characterized in that it comprises the following steps:

- establishment of the intervention list for the said operation

- Storing the elements of said intervention list in a drawer (7) of intervention of said maid (6)

- validation at the computer of each element of said intervention list as they are stored in said drawer (7) intervention

- validation at the computer level of the intervention list associated with said drawer (7)

- closing the drawer (7)

- computer-only control inventory, without drawer opening (7)
