Abstract

The invention relates to a method for operating a motor vehicle comprising an electrical energy accumulator (10) for providing a voltage for an electric motor of the motor vehicle, the energy accumulator (10) comprising a plurality of electrochemical cells (12, 14, 16, 18) for which a terminal voltage and/or a cell temperature are respectively measured by means of respective voltage and/or temperature sensors (20, 22, 24, 26) associated with the electrochemical cells. In the event of a failure of a sensor (20, 22, 24, 26, 28, 30, 32, 34), the terminal voltage and/or the cell temperature of the cells (12, 14, 16, 18) associated with the sensor (20, 22, 24, 26, 28, 30, 32, 34) are estimated on the basis of the terminal voltage and/or the cell temperature of at least one other electrochemical cell (12, 14, 16, 18) of the energy accumulator (10). This enables the motor vehicle to continue to be safely operated, even in the event of a sensor failure, until a repair can be carried out.
