Abstract

The present invention relates to an artificial tooth made of synthetic or ceramic material, comprising a plurality of layers, for use as a dental replacement for a natural tooth, in particular for creating a dental prosthesis. The tooth consists of a tooth body having a solid inner core (1) and at least one outer layer (2) enveloping said core starting from the base thereof. The solid core (1) and the outer layer (2) are produced from a thermoplastic material or a ceramic material by means of injection molding. In particular, a blind hole (7) is designed on the basal side of the solid core (1) in the direction of the tooth axis. One or more retentions (8) are present in the wall of the blind hole (7) and/or the thermoplastic material contains a filler made of a mixture of siliceous glass, quartz and hydroxylapatite.
