A principal object of the present invention is to provide a swing gruver training aid that is designed so to hold the right arm elbow of a golf student close to the body throughout the back swing.
Another object of the present invention is to provide a swing gruver training aid wherein the position of the elbow is maintained right up until the ball is struck, then the swing gruver allows the follow through of the golf swing to be completed in the correct manner.
Another object of the present invention is to provide a swing gruver training aid which helps the golf student to actually experience the true feeling of just how the golf swing is supposed to feel, and which will not only keep the right elbow close to the body comprising a basic fundamental of the golf swing for righthanded golfers, but which will bring about the inter-relation of all the vital fundamentals that separate the professionals and low handicappers from the week-end golfers.
Other objects of the present invention are to provide a swing gruver training aid which is simple in design, inexpensive to manufacture, rugged in construction, easy to use and efficient in operation.
These and other objects will be readily evident upon a study of the following specification together with the accompanying drawing wherein: 7
FIG. I is a front elevation view of the present invention shown being worn;
FIG. 2 is a rear elevation view thereof being worn;
FIG. 3 is a perspective view of the training aid shown per se.
Referring now to the drawing in detail, the reference numeral represents a swing gruver training aid, according to the present invention, wherein there is a regulation canvas belt 11 made of regular width canvas webbing and which at one end is provided with a regulation adjustable belt buckle 12 into which the opposite end 13 of the belt is adjustably receivable.
One end of the strap 13 is stitched to an inner side of the belt 11, the other end of the strap 13 having a D-ring I4 attached thereto, the D-ring having a front cross-belt section 15 inserted therethrough, the length of the front cross-belt section being adjustable by means of an adjustable slide fastener 16 on one end thereof. A loop 17 of adjustable size is formed by the other end of the front cross-belt section by means of a free sliding fastener 18, the loop 17 being adaptable for being placed around the right arm 19 of a golf trainee and located above the elbow 20. The length of the front cross-belt section 15 is evident to be controlled by the adjustable slide fastener 16 so that the right arm elbow is maintained close to the body 21 of the player.
In the present invention, another strap 22 is attached to one end to the inner side of the belt 11, the other end of the strap 22 having a D-ring 23 attached thereto as shown in FIG. 3 of the drawing. An adjustable shoulder strap 24 is attached at one end to the same end of strap 22 which secures the D-ring 23. The opposite end of the adjustable shoulder strap 24 is fitted through the D-ring 23 and is then at its terminal end affixed to an adjustable slide fastener 25 that is slidcable along an intermediate portion of the adjustable shoulder strap 24 so that the length of the shoulder strap 24 is fully adjustable to accommodate different sizes of persons.
The front cross-belt section is made of regulation canvas webbing one inch in width. The shoulder strap 24 is made of regulation canvas webbing one inch in width. The belt section 11 is made of regulation canvas webbing of one and onequarter inches in width.
The construction of the swing gruver for left handers will simply be reversed which would present the belt buckle to the right in an illustration and the front cross belt section 15 and shoulder strap 24 also beingto the ri lit.
in operative use, the training aid 1 IS fitted upon the person fully adjustable. The swing gruver training aid will hold the right arm elbow close to the body throughout the back swing. After the ball is struck, the swing gruver permits the follow through of the golf swing to be completed in a correct manner. The main thing to remember when training or playing with this swing gruver is not to fight it but simply let it take the body, arms and hands into the perfect one-piece golf swing. The student will be delighted how straight and how far the ball will travel and when it is taken off, he will notice the improvement immediately in the quality of his golf shots, and more important his score will begin to drop drastically.
What I now claim is:
1. In a golf club swing training aid for a golf student, the combination of a canvas belt for placement around a person's waist, a front cross belt section secured at one end to said canvas waist belt, the opposite end of said front cross belt section being formed with a loop, said loop being adaptable for receiving a right hander's right arm above the elbow for the purpose of holding the right arm elbow close to the body throughout a back swing, a belt buckle being provided at one end of said waist belt, the opposite end of said waist belt being adjustably secureable to said belt buckle, an intermediate portion of said canvas waist belt having one end of a strap secured there to, said strap at its opposite end having a ring attached there to, said ring having one end of said front cross belt section passed there through and attached to an adjustable slide fastener through which an intennediate portion of said front cross belt section is receivable, the opposite end of said front cross belt section being configurated into said loop by means of a terminal end thereof having a free sliding fastener secured there to which is slideable along an intermediate portion of said front cross belt section that is between said adjustable slide fastener and said opposite end of said front cross belt section, a second strap being secured at its one end to an intermediate portion of said waist belt, the opposite end of said second strap having a ring attached there to, an adjustable shoulder strap made permanently secured at one end to said second strap, the opposite end of said shoulder strap being looped through said ring supported by said second strap, and the terminal end of said shoulder strap being secured to an adjustable slide fastener that slideably receives an intennediate portion of said shoulder strap.
