- This invention relates to new and useful improvements in a chest protector for mens and womens coats.
More particularly, the invention proposes a curved, indicated by reference numeral l4 so as to comfortably fit across ones chest beneath the neck.

Having thus described my invention, what I claim as new, and desire to secure by United States Letters Patent is:
1; A chest protector for mens and women's coats comprising a, triangularly shaped sheetlike member for extending across ones chest beneath ones coat and fasteners for releasably supporting said member to said coat, said sheet-like member having a vertical pleat consisting of a back layer continuing-into acentral layer, continuingl into an,outer layer, andistudsrpassing through aligned openings in two of the layers and an elongated slot in the other of said layers for holding these layers in relative positions to control the width of said protector.

A chest protector for mens and womerrs coats comprising a triangularly shaped sheet-like member for extending across ones chest beneath ones coat and fasteners for releasablysupporting said member to said coat, said sheet-like member having'avertical pleat consisting of a back layer continuing into a central layer, continuing into an outer. layer and studs for holding these layers in relative positions and a framelike spring mounted within the pleat and mounted against said studs for holding the pleat in formation. e V

A chest protector for mens and women's coats, comprising a triangularly shaped sheet-like member for extending across ones chest beneath ones coat and fasteners for releasably supporting said member to said coat, said sheet-like member havinga vertical pleat consisting of a back layer I continuing into a central layer, continuing into an outer layer, and studsfor holding these layers in relative positions and a frame-like spring mounted within the pleat and mountedagainst said studs for holding the pleat in formation, said frame-like spring having its ends engaging said studs and an intermediate area, bearing 'against said pleat, and expandable convolutions formed in said frame-like spring between its ends and said intermediatearea permitting said spring .toextend itself 7 in all adjusted positions of said pleat to maintainsaid pleatformed.
