Die in Fig. 1 in Ansicht zu sehende Wechselplatte 10 bildet die Seitenwand eines seitlich offenen Hohlkastens 12 (Fig. 3) von gleichem Format. Die Wechselplatte 10 ist rechteckförmig und hat eine obere Reihe von Bohrungen 14 und eine untere Reihe von Bohrungen 16, wobei je zwei Bohrungen 14, 16 der oberen und unteren Reihe vertikal ausgefluchtet sind. Unterhalb jeder Bohrung 14 bzw. oberhalb jeder Bohrung 16 ist eine Anzahl Montagelöcher 18 zur Befestigung jeweils eines Werkzeugschlitten-Aggregates 20 vorgesehen. Zwischen den beiden, die Montagelöcher 18 aufweisenden Befestigungsflächen 22, 24 für die Schlittenaggregate 20 befindet sich ein, über die ganze Länge der Platte 10 reichender vertiefter, rechteckförmiger Bereich 26, der eine Schiebeführung für quadratische Werkstückträger 28 (Fig. 6) darstellt. Diese stützen sich an den beiden Führungsrändern 30, 32 des vertieften Bereiches 26 formschlüssig ab und sind mittels Schrauben an der Platte 10 befestigt. Eine längliche Bearbeitungsöffnung 34 erstreckt sich in der Mitte zwischen beiden Bohrungsreihen 14, 16 parallel zu diesen über nahezu die gesamte Länge der Wechselplatte 10, endet jedoch im Abstand von den Vertikalrändern der Wechselplatte, so dass die obere und die untere Hälfte der Wechselplatte 10 eine zusammenhängende stabile Einheit bilden. Der Hohlkasten 12 hat einen oberen Lagerbalken 44 und einen entsprechenden unteren Lagerbalken, an welchem je eine Anzahl Antriebsorgane 46 gleich der Anzahl Bohrungen 14, 16 drehbar gelagert ist. Jedes Antriebsorgan 46 besteht aus einer Zahnriemenscheibe 48 und zwei beidseitig angeschraubten Antriebsrädern 50 mit Hohlverzahnung, in die die Zahnräder 42 der Aggregate 20 antriebsmässig eingesteckt sind. Die Zahnriemenscheibe 48 wird von zwei Zahnriemen 52, 54 umschlungen. Der Zahnriemen 52 verbindet die Riemenscheibe 48 mit der Riemenscheibe des auf der einen Seite benachbarten Aggregates 46, während der andere Riemen 54 den Anschluss an das Antriebsorgan 46 auf der anderen Seite herstellt. Die Zahnriemen 52, 54 umschlingen also benachbarte Riemenscheiben mit einem grossen Umschlingungswinkel von 180°, wodurch grosse Antriebskräfte übertragen werden können. Die erste Riemenscheibe 48 beider Riemenscheibenreihen wird von einem Antriebsriemen 56 umschlungen, der mit einer Scheibe 58 eines Getriebes in Antriebseingriff steht, welches mit einem motorischen Antrieb kuppelbar ist.
