Abstract
The present invention is intended to provide a device and a method with which the absolute topography of at least partially reflecting surfaces can be detected without contact with high measurement resolution, wherein the surface to be measured is in particular aspherical or freeform and has large inclinations or large curvatures can. The device according to the invention consists of a lighting unit (2), a high-precision x-y positioning unit, on which the measuring object (1) is located, and at least one observation unit (3), which comprises a three-dimensional screen (4) and at least one optical sensor. The three-dimensional screen (4) is designed as a cavity forming a hollow body, wherein according to the invention the x-y positioning unit with the measurement object (1) located thereon is arranged in the cavity. Description
The present invention relates to an apparatus and a method for optical shape detection glossy smooth freeform surfaces, with which even freeform optics with large inclinations can be absolutely measured and their surface can be reconstructed. The invention is based on the principle of raster reflectometry, in which at least one light pattern is reflected by the at least partially reflecting surface to be examined and is propagated back in space with the aid of a three-dimensional observation unit. The inventive solution presented here can also be used in particular for the simultaneous measurement and reconstruction of the front and rear optically smooth surfaces of a transparent measurement object.
Surfaces with a roughness far below the wavelength of the light are said to be optically smooth. Optically smooth surfaces reflect or transmit incoming light in a directed manner. Examples include flat or curved mirrors, polished metal parts, glass surfaces (lenses), liquid surfaces and transitions of media with different optical refractive index. According to the invention, the object to be measured must be such that its surface when scanning with a light pattern with a diameter d within each surface part is approximately free of curvature. The surface can either be fully mirrored, such as vapor-deposited or polished surfaces (eg mirrors and sheet-metal parts) or even partially mirrored or partially reflective.
For the detection of the shape of optically smooth surfaces, there is a wide range of methods that allow a three-dimensional measurement.
To test simple surface shapes, such as flat or spherical surfaces (lenses, mirrors, etc.), mainly interferometric methods are used. It proves disadvantageous that it is difficult to determine the absolute positions since a so-called 2π ambiguity occurs. In addition, the production of a free-form reference represents a major hurdle, both technologically and economically. The necessary vibration and temperature-fluctuation-free ambient conditions are further challenges in the realization of interferometric measuring systems, including a very high and cost-intensive equipment expense. For these reasons, interferometers are usually used for surface and roughness testing. As measuring methods for surface reconstruction, they are rather unsuitable [Hof07].

Ray-tracing methods with a fine scanning laser beam are also known from the prior art (see, for example, [Häu88] or [Mor00]). Due to the limitation of the size of the mirrors, lenses and beam splitters used, these methods are also not suitable for measuring objects with large inclinations.
Object of the present invention is therefore to overcome the disadvantages of the prior art and to provide a device and a method with which it is possible to detect the absolute topography of at least partially reflecting surfaces without contact, wherein the surface to be measured in particular aspherical or is formed as a freeform and may have large inclinations or strong bends. At the same time, the method according to the invention is intended to realize a high measuring resolution with the lowest possible costs.
According to the invention this object is achieved on the device side with the features of the first claim and the method side with the features of the eighth claim.
Preferred further embodiments of the device according to the invention are characterized in the
Es zeigt:Details and advantages of the invention will become apparent from the following description part, in which the invention with reference to the accompanying drawings is explained in more detail. It shows:
Described below are an apparatus and a method for the simultaneous, calibration-free, non-contact and absolute optical determination of the 3D coordinates of reflecting surfaces. These surfaces can also have strong inclinations, whereby a light pattern (Gaussian beam, several juxtaposed Gaussian beams, lines, different symmetrical and non-symmetrical light forms together or alone) is used for optical scanning. The surfaces can be either fully mirrored, partially mirrored or partially reflective, such. As polished or sufficiently smooth surfaces, transparent media (for example, glass surfaces), Liquid surfaces or transitions of media with different optical refractive index.

In order to be able to observe the complete screen surfaces at the same time, according to the invention one or more detectors which can record both individual pictures and video films are used. With these detectors, the position of the screen in the measuring space is precisely determined after a pre-calibration. For this purpose, visible markings are applied on the inner and outer screens, with which the position of the reflected beam on the screen is better classified in the measuring space.
The evaluation of the data obtained takes place in a computer unit with a suitable software, so that at any time the focus of the two light spots and their positions can be determined in the measuring room. With the determined focal points of the light spots on the inner and outer surfaces of the three-dimensional screen and the additional knowledge about the geometry and the position in the measurement space as well as the material properties (eg refractive index, etc.) of the observation unit, a backpropagation of the reflected beam in the measurement space calculated.
By calculating the crossing points of the course of the reflected beam and the stored course of the scanning light patterns, the absolute position S (x; y; z) of the scanned portion of the measuring object in the measuring space, as well as its local inclination, can be determined with high accuracy.
With the device according to the invention and the associated method, a specular or partially mirrored object to be measured without prior knowledge of its surface even with a highly curved surface, as defined above, absolute and with high accuracy. With the observation unit according to the invention a virtually unlimited measurement of targets with surfaces with strong inclinations is possible. The measured object to be measured can be placed in the measuring room without further presetting. The course of the scanning beam from the illumination unit in the measuring space is known based on a pre-calibration of the illumination unit with the observation unit. It can be carried out before final assembly. Additional calibration measures are no longer required.
During the actual measurement, the observation unit and / or the illumination unit remains stationary, however, the measurement object located on the high-precision x-y positioning unit must be moved along the x and y axes, whereby a positioning accuracy in the micron range can be ensured.
In order to be able to measure any inclination of the measurement object, according to the invention a three-dimensional projection screen is used, with which all reflected rays in the cavity are detected.

The height z and the increase in the surface facets of the rear side of the measurement object are determined by ray tracing, starting from the points g and f, by determining the intersection d with the beam of the corresponding point pair a and b. The basis for this method is the knowledge of the refractive index of the measurement object and its homogeneity. The entire rear surface of the measurement object is also determined by lateral scanning along the x and y axes.
