U2 frontman Bono has banned US president Donald Trump from the band's current tour in the States.

Speaking to the Irish Mirror ahead of the Dublin rockers' Joshua Tree 2017 gig in Seattle on Sunday night the singer and activist blasted: "People who voted for Trump are welcome here but he’s not."

Bono, The Edge, Larry Mullen and Adam Clayton are on the road to mark 30 years since the release of their breakthrough album, The Joshua Tree.

The rock superstar told how he is furious with Trump who is cutting the funding in the fight against HIV.

He said: "Bill Gates will be here tonight, he will tell you ‘but that doesn’t work guys.' He can’t level it off because people will die’.

“So I don’t wanna (Trump)."
