World to get M-Yoga app: PM Modi announces launch of app in collaboration with WHO on Yoga Day 2021

India will launch M-Yoga mobile application which will be available to the world in several languages, PM Modi said on International Yoga Day 2021. It will show videos on yoga training based on common protocol.

New Delhi: On the occasion of seventh International Day of Yoga, Prime Minister Narendra Modi announced the launch of M-Yoga app in collaboration with the World Health Organization (WHO). The app which will be available worldwide in many languages will show videos on yoga training based on a common protocol.

Announcing the launch of the M-Yoga App, PM Modi on Monday said, "Now there will be an app which will have yoga training videos in different languages for people across the world. This will help us in our 'One World, One Health' motto,"

In his 2021 Yoga Day address today, the prime minister said that Yoga has provided a ray of hope to the people across the world amid the ongoing COVID-19 pandemic. "Yoga is a ray of hope amid the ongoing COVID-19 pandemic as the enthusiasm for Yoga has only increased over the last two years," he said.

"When the invisible virus of Corona had struck the world, then no country was prepared for it, by any means, be it strength, in the form of resources or mentally. We all have seen that in such difficult times, yoga became a great medium of self-confidence," he said.

The International Day of Yoga, celebrated every year on June 21, was observed in different parts of the country from New Delhi to Ladakh. CRPF and ITBP personnel were also seen performing yoga asanas in difficult terrains early this morning.

Yoga Day is being observed in about 190 countries globally. The event was celebrated by the Indian Embassy in US and well as in New York's infamous Times Square.

Several leaders and Yog gurus including MoS Sports Kiren Rijiju, Culture and Tourism Minister Prahlad Singh Patel, MoS Finance and Corporate Affairs Anurag Thakur, Baba Ramdev were also seen among those seen practising Yoga today.
