Premier League player wages: Manchester United, Chelsea and Arsenal splashing out – but others are spending big too
Big boys continuing to pay stars incredible amounts per week but smaller teams will shock you with their salary figures
THE Premier League is as famous for its cash-rich teet as it is for the quality of the football on display.
Clubs continue to outspend their European rivals when it comes to transfer fees.
But some of them are spending mega-bucks on wages too – and it’s not just the big boys either.
According to the Mail, exiled Wayne Rooney is Manchester United’s highest-paid player on £300,000-a-week – not bad for just warming the bench.
The same could be said of Man City’s in-and-out duo, Sergio Aguero and Yaya Toure, who are both earning £240k.

Tottenham: Harry Kane/Hugo Lloris (£100k)
Leicester: Jamie Vardy (£100k)
Middlesbrough: Alvaro Negredo (£100k)
Watford: Troy Deeney (£100k)
There appears to be a trend appearing, with Chelsea playmaker Cesc Fabregas pocketing weekly wages of £220k as he continues to be linked with a Stamford Bridge exit.
Surprisingly, Christian Benteke is mixing it with the elite names, with Crystal Palace paying the Belgian £120k-a-week.

Hull: Abel Hernandez (£35k)
Jamie Vardy of relegation-threatened Leicester, struggling Middlesbrough loanee Alvaro Negredo and Watford captain Troy Deeney are pocketing an astonishing weekly wages of £100k.
But down the other end of the table, it’s Hull striker Abel Hernandez and Burnley’s new signing Robbie Brady picking up a more modest £35k-a-week – which is still more than most people earn in a year.
