Aston Villa have slapped in bids for Burnley keeper Tom Heaton and Egyptian winger Trezeguet.

Villa have made their move for Heaton after Championship Stoke refused to drop their £25million price tag on England shot-stopper Jack Butland.

But Villa have told Burnley they will not pay over the odds for Heaton, who is 33 and only has one year left on his contract.

The Clarets are willing to move on Heaton and Joe Hart after giving their fellow shot-stopper, and England player, Nick Pope a new long-term deal.

And a move to Villa Park could be sealed later this week to make Heaton their seventh signing of the summer window.

They have already spent £68.5m on Bournemouth centre-back Tyrone Mings, Bruges striker Wesley Moraes, Southampton full-back Matt Targett, Wolves defender Kortney Hause, Lille midfielder Anwar El Ghazi and arch-rivals Birmingham's midfielder Jota since beating Derby at Wembley in the Championship play-off final.

Villa boss Dean Smith also has Trezeguet, 24, in his sights — although Watford are rivalling the newly-promoted side.
