2019-20 Panini Mosaic Basketball Cards

I have bought and opened 3 blaster boxes, 2 cello packs boxes (total of 24 cello packs), and one hobby box. I got one Ja Morant, sticker signatures of nobodies (old vets, bench rookies who play in the last 20 seconds of the game), no Zion. I must admit, though, that the cards look nice, but Mosaics aren’t really known to be as high end as Prizms and Optics. If you are a collector, might as well wait til the prices get better. If you are looking to flip cards, get rid of them fast because these cards will not hold much value in the long run… the rookies are really not that great.

Just try one blaster and it was a lot of fun to open. Ordered ten more, two hobby packs, one hobby box, one mega box.

Very sharp-looking, which seems to be the solution for Panini, as the odds to pull an auto (or any Panini/Topps set, for that matter)-does NOT get any easier. Same goes for the many different colored prizms. So now, it seems you’re lucky to pull a #’ed card of anyone!!
The beauty and design alone make it a very spiffy product—->for those lucky enough to nab one, if possible.

Quick Question: Are these a Target only release, as it seems to be the only ones to have them (albeit sold out all the time)

I bought a blaster online for $41.25. No autos or #’d parallels, but I’ll take my LeBron James green mosaic Jam Masters insert and run. No Zion/Ja mojo, but can’t complain when one card is 2-3x value of the box price you paid.

One thing I don’t understand about the market. I get why 2019-20 NBA Panini products are so expensive these days, but I don’t understand why the ceiling has to raise on past years. So much freakin’ inflation the past 7-8 months. I remember the day (i.e. holidays 2018) when you could still buy low-to-mid range hobby boxes for $50-75. The whole hobby seems to be suffering due to one rookie class craze.

I stumbled on some Mosaic at a WalMart yesterday (1 blaster, 4 hanger boxes, and 6 cello packs)…been impossible to find in stores, but thank goodness I stopped. Pulled 3 Zion (all base), 4 LeBron (orange reactive MVP and base; 1 green MVP; a base insert), and a Harden ssp Genesis MVP!!! All that besides a boatload of green, pink, and reactive orange prizms. I’ve been on a decent hot streak lately (except for Bowman baseball–it’s a dog), so I’m thinking it’s time for a trip to Vegas…Mosaic is my new favorite basketball product!!!

What retail products are the Green Prizms found in ? Are they found in the cello packs with the 2 regular card pack and pink camo packs?

The production looks great, BUT let’s talk about the pricing for relatively little in the box. I Bought two hobby boxes for around $700 each. The first one included a Lebron Center Stage – amazing. But the second box was complete garbage. Numerous flaws and damage to cards. Sticker autos look cheap and not worth much. Overall, I would not recommend the product at this absurdly expensive price. Very little ROI even if by some luck you get a Zion silver. The hobby has gone to garbage. I will not even touch retail at the current secondary market prices as the odds of big hits are even less than hobby. Panini has ruined a 30+ year hobby for me. I will sadly not be introducing my son anytime soon.

Another overpriced hobby box from Panini. You’d have better odds of winning at Blackjack or craps at a casino than gambling on a box of this stuff. Rip off.

Hey. Mosaic is great retail release and I have found a bunch. Thank you Panini for giving me a chance for this stuff. I only pay store price, so if I do find it, I hold it for the rest of my life. All basketball. Have held 7 boxes of the 1996 Topps Kobe Chrome basketball for 24 years, and they are around 10-12 grand plus a box.

I will buy the Mosaic individual cards I want. Maybe. Or trade back to the 2018 or 2019 Prizm with the extra Mosaic I do have.
I know the Prizm is better, but one had to be better. Just don’t pay 4 times the retail or hobby SR price and do not pop them if you do. Losing game.

Lots of great hits, Zions spill out these packs

Product targeted to speculators with little thought for collectors. Panini could not be bothered to getting the correct spelling for fluorescent on their blaster boxes which is indicative of their disregard for the people to whom they are selling.

First things first, the cards look great, the mosaic foil is fantastic, probably the best looking cards to ever hit retail shelves. Cool.

But OH MY GOD does this product fall flat when it comes to value proposition. Blasters for $60? Mega Boxes for $180? Plus, the almighty Hobby Box is selling for SEVEN HUNDRED FIFTY dollars on eBay and it only guarantees one auto (all stickers too). F***ing YIKES.

If you’re lucky enough to find this thing on retail shelves, go ahead and grab a box, it’s a pretty fun rip, but dear God stay away from the Hobby format.

P.S. The people buying this crap specifically to resell are not evil or “killing the hobby”, I’ve run into a few at local stores and they’re nice people that see an opportunity to make a quick buck, which is totally understandable in a time like this if you ask me. If you need to blame someone, blame Panini for stoking the flames by inflating their retail prices at the last minute on their own website, or yourselves for buying it anyway. It’s totally thrown the market out of wack for this product and Chronicles football.

so far im liking the product. its kool when you get duplicates of Zion, Ja, Lebron, Luka. but prices are crazy, just like optic and prizm.

Agree with above. The market is out of control and collectors are driving it. Panini released the hobby version today at over $600 direct which sold out immediately and most other sites have listed well over $700. If this was milk or gas they would be subject to price gouging laws. Panini delivers Poor quality, the ever hated points, failed redemption’s, and the worst customer service in any industry. Parents need to take their attorney to the hobby shop to read all the fine print on the back of the box to realize the false marketing on the front since the hits are “on average” even at these prices. Stop buying Panini. Get a new hobby. Otherwise this will never change. Panini is laughing all the way to the bank while our hobby falls apart.

Card quality is good. Inserts and parallels were ok. Optic may be a little better…Prizm and Select for sure are better.

The hits (or lack thereof) make it absolutely overrated. I just watched a guy break a case and get several of the same autograph…and it wasn’t a good one. Not ok, Panini. Boo.

$800 for one stinking autograph and a couple shiny cards! Never is a million years will I be paying that for this product. It is about time to step away and I have been collecting for decades but this is too much. Blasters, no where to be found so forget that and again, I am not paying this price for one stinking autograph of more than likely a low tier player. Over and out on Mosaic! Bye!!!!

It’s also sad that the price is $629.95. Also more sad to young teens and kids who are starting to collect in this hobby and won’t be able to afford it. Mark Warsop you got some explaining to do!!

make sure you change you’re SRP on here from $120 to $629.95 per hobby box because thats Panini did on their site when selling went live. What a joke

Another flipper created market with insane prices for a flawed product. If you buy from these flippers you are just as bad for the hobby as they are.

Sick of vendors/distributors manipulating the market. Prices for kids hobby are Ludacris. Due to greedy morons, the hobby is dead.

Blasters already going for over $60 on EBAY – Will be another impossible product to find in any retail store like Walmart or Target

Thoughts from the 4 blasters I just snagged –

Base set collation is not good. Way to many doubles for about 100 cards.

4 green mossaic prizms per box, along with either 1 silver or silver mosaic prizm.

Even at retail price my first two boxes were alarmingly bad. Box 3 saved the day, Ja Morant mosaic prizm. Box 4 had a green mosaic Lebron MVP and almost gave me a heart attack with a Grizzlies card backwards in the pack..Tyus Jones auto.
