Ghislaine Maxwell has messy jail cell, doesn’t flush toilet, prosecutors allege

Accused Jeffrey Epstein madam Ghislaine Maxwell has let her Brooklyn jail cell become a mess — and frequently doesn’t flush her toilet after using it, prosecutors alleged in a letter Tuesday.

In the letter filed in Manhattan federal court, prosecutors responded to a claim — which Maxwell’s lawyers made in February — that she was abused by a jail guard during a search and forced to clean as a punishment at the Metropolitan Detention Center.

In reality, prosecutors claimed that guards made Maxwell clean her cell because she let it fall into disarray — letting a stench grow because she often doesn’t flush the toilet after she uses it, prosecutors wrote.

“MDC staff directed the defendant to clean her cell because it had become very dirty. Among other things, MDC staff noted that the defendant frequently did not flush her toilet after using it, which caused the cell to smell,” they wrote.

They added that all pat-down searches of Maxwell have been recorded and jail officials do not believe she was abused during one of the searches, as her lawyers claimed.

“After reviewing the camera footage, the MDC concluded that the search was conducted appropriately and the defendant’s complaint about that incident was unfounded,” they wrote.

Maxwell’s lawyers had also contended that their client was losing weight and her hair due to the shoddy conditions in the lockup.

But prosecutors contended that she has not dropped a significant amount of weight behind bars — and also noted she is also now vaccinated against COVID-19.

“The defendant has received the COVID-19 vaccine and is now fully vaccinated,” prosecutors wrote.

Maxwell was arrested in July 2020 and charged in Manhattan federal court with procuring underage girls for Epstein to abuse and lying about it under oath.

She was recently hit with two additional sex trafficking charges in a superseding indictment unsealed in March based on allegations by a fourth accuser.

She’s remained behind bars since her arrest and maintains her innocence.
