Rep. Cooper (TN-05) disclosed on social media that he tested positive for COVID-19 Saturday morning.

He says he only has mild symptoms due to having been vaccinated and having received his booster.

Cooper also wrote that "everyone should be vaccinated and boosted as soon as they're able."

Cooper has served in Congress since 2003 as the U.S. representative for Tennessee's 5th congressional district.

He is a member of the Democratic Party and the Blue Dog Coalition, and represented Tennessee's 4th congressional district from 1983 to 1995.
