Sonia Gandhi to attend Russia women’s meet

NEW DELHI: Former Congress president Sonia Gandhi will travel to St Petersberg, Russia, on Wednesday to participate in the second edition of the Eurasian Women’s Forum, organised by the Federation Council of the Federal Assembly of the Russian Federation and the Interparliamentary Assembly of Member Nations of the Commonwealth of Independent States.


Gandhi will participate in the plenary session on Women for Global Security and Sustainable Development. She will also speak in an open debate on the positive energy of young people where discussions will include mechanisms to support and promote ideas from girls and young women.

She will also be awarded the Second Eurasian Women’s Forum Award.
