Man on run from police found hanging upside down by underwear

A man running from police has been betrayed by his own underwear after the garment became stuck on a fence, leading to his arrest.

Police had been called to the suburb of Findon, Adelaide, after reports of someone smashing windows at a house under construction.

A 23-year-old Seaton man ran away from police and originally managed to lose them – until he found himself in an unexpected situation.

While trying to jump a six-foot fence, the suspect’s underwear became caught. When police caught up to him, he was dangling upside down, unable to free himself.

Officers quickly arrested the man, and charged him with unlawfully on premises, breach of bail and carry offensive weapon – due to a knife that was found in his pocket.

He’s due to appear in the Port Adelaide Magistrates Court at a later date.
