North Melbourne Town Hall
11 – 13 September 2015
Live bees may not be a staple at a regular musical performance, yet Arts House Melbourne bring that unmistakeable buzz to Dance of the Bee, a live show presented with singers, pianists and moving image.
The swarm of bees are housed in a sculpted, transparent hive onstage. As the bees sing, a film reel of the insects at work plays out behind them, hopefully inspiring the audience to connect their world and ours.
The work has been designed by German-born award-winning, genre-defying composer Martin Friedelwhile Astra Choir’s choral performance under the direction of John McCaughey adds another element.
