Woman charged after WA campsite stabbing

A woman has been charged with grievous bodily harm after a man was fatally stabbed during an argument at a campsite near Bunbury.

Police said at about 5pm (WST) on Saturday a 43-year-old woman and a 45-year-old man set up camp in bushland near Lane Pool Reserve at Dwellingup, about 125 kilometres north of Bunbury.

Some time later the pair, both from Glen Iris near Bunbury, got into an argument which resulted in the woman allegedly stabbing the man in the chest with a knife.

They drove from their campsite to seek medical assistance for the man but he died shortly afterwards.

Mandurah detectives charged the woman on Sunday with grievous bodily harm, but those charges may be upgraded pending a post-mortem examination.

She will appear in Perth Magistrates Court on Monday.
