MATTHEW Dellavedova hasn’t been in Milwaukee for long, but he’s already earned the ultimate compliment from one of his new team’s stars.

Giannis Antetokounmpo recently spoke with reporters on a conference call, and praised the chemistry that he and Dellavedova have with one another.

“Definitely, the combination is coming along because Matthew is the best teammate I have ever played with in these four years,” Antetokounmpo said.

“He always wants to get in the pick-and-roll, everything he does he wants to get it right.”

While the pair have only played on the same team for a short amount of time, they’ve been able to be effective playing the pick-and-roll with each other.

Antetokounmpo, 21, is widely regarded as the key asset in a re-emerging Bucks franchise, and he’s clearly happy with his team’s decision to offer Dellavedova that lucrative $US38 million, four-year deal.

“He’s a willing passer, so he makes it a lot easier, so I think we can get a lot better,” Antetokounmpo said.

“I think we have great connection and it’s helping the team.”

The native of Greece also had some kind words for the Bucks’ other Australian, Thon Maker, with the two often compared with one another.

Both are long and athletic, with a potential-rich future, and Antetokounmpo wants to do what he can to help his team’s star rookie.

“I try to help Thon a lot off the court and on the court,” he said.

“He asked ‘What did you do when you came into the league?’ I told him you have to spend as much time as you can in the gym because the way you are built and your skill set is unbelievable.

“I think he’s going to be a great player and his mindset right now is unbelievable because he is always in the gym.

“He has great work ethic so for him I think the sky is the limit.”
