I am often cooking something that would benefit from being cooked in a Dutch Oven, so that I can do some stove top cooking and then switch to oven cooking. But, I usually skip the oven part or find a recipe that doesn't call for the use of a dutch oven, because I did not have one. So I was happy to get this one. Firstly, let me say how pleasing to the eye it is. The Pioneer Woman brand helps me enjoy cooking in that way. Having nice tools helps people like me who don't especially enjoy the art of cooking. This holiday inspired piece is no exception. It is nice and bright, with pretty designs on the top. Of course, it is heavy, because it is cast iron, so take care. I've already tried it with a couple of recipes and everything went as it should. I didn't have any issues. It cleans up easily, as well.

Pretty and Functional

This dutch oven is truly a beauty! It is a gorgeous red color enameled exterior with an off white enameled interior. The lid has a raised flower design and Pioneer Woman logo with a satin bronze knob. This makes this piece of cookware stand out from all the rest. It is so pretty, I am going to leave it on the stove top as a decorative look too. No need to hide this in a cabinet. Enameled cast iron also makes it much easier to clean with a little care to prevent chipping the enamel surface.
It has a self basting lid which is a plus.The lid has small spikes on the inside and help keep the food moist.They drip the moisture back onto the food, to keep it cooking ievenly in its own juices, great for a pot roast and veggies.
The other great thing about this pot is the weight. It is made of durable cast iron but still light enough to lift when full when placing in or out of the oven. I have other cast iron that is difficult to lift because of its weight so I rarely use. This one will get a lot of use.
At 6 quarts it is perfect for a family meal and fits with the lid in my oven without adjusting the racks, another plus.
This would make a great gift for that cook in your family or just for yourself. Love it!

Heavy Duty Dutch Oven

This Dutch Oven is something you would (or should) see in your grandma's house. It is made for Comfort Cooking!

It cooks evenly and efficiently, has a durable enamel finish inside and out, it has dimples on the underside of the lid to collect condensate and help with basting...This is Nice.

It also has an embossed top so it has a nice look--if you have open shelving. Looks good for the Holidays, but not too decorative for regular use.

To protect the finish (inside and out) I would use silicone, plastic or wood utensils, and not use any acidic or citric-based cleaners, nor metal scratch pads.

Pioneer Woman 6Qt Enamel Dutch Oven

Have used cast iron cookware for decades. This 6 quart enamel Dutch oven will require slight changes. Lift cookware off range tops to avoid scratches. It's heavy as any cast iron; will retain heat; heat and cool gradually. Hand wash in warm soapy water and dry. I will have to educate myself to use nylon or wood utensil rather than metal ones. This Dutch oven will be used year around even though the lid has holiday motifs. I suggest saving the directions on care for future use.

Elegant & Practical

I owned a Dutch oven years ago but nothing this beautifully made. The craftsmanship is excellent and the detail are one of a kind. I have the red one which has intricate detailing and a gold knob on the top of the lid. It's sturdy like cast iron and allows you to use the range and the oven. It's like a slow cooker for your oven. It cleans well without much effort. I would definitely recommend it and it would make an excellent gift.

Beautiful Dutch Oven

The Pioneer Woman Timeless Beauty 6-Quart Enamel on Cast Iron Holiday Dutch Oven is absolutely beautiful! It has the Pioneer Woman logo on the lid with gold knob. The porcelain enamel is heavy duty and can be chipped if dropped. The color option white is not a true white, but more of off white. I will enjoy making all my favorite dishes using this dutch oven!

GORGEOUS

I do a lot of Dutch oven cooking on the campfire when camping and decided to get one for use in the house too and this one is much more beautiful and is strictly for indoor use. The finish is gorgeous and the design on the lid is pretty fancy. The only surface that is not enameled is the rim that the lid rest on. This helps reduce chipping the enamel. The interior is off white enamel and the exterior is red. The name says "holiday" but this is suitable for year round use. The handles on the side are nice (something you don't typically find on a traditional Dutch oven) as well as a replaceable handle on the lid. The underside of the lid has the bumps (see photo) to return the condensation on the lid back into the pot uniformly (rather than running down the sides). It is a hefty pot but not the heaviest. The enamel makes it easy to clean and no need to season it either. There is just something nice about cooking in cast iron. Nice even heat that lasts. You just have to be careful not to bang it around too much and chip the enamel.

When I received my red Pioneer Woman Timeless Beauty 6-Quart Enamel on Cast Iron Holiday Dutch Oven by the delivery person I was so excited to rip open the box, gaze upon its beauty and start using it but let me tell you this is one heavy pot and I had a hard time getting the boxed Dutch oven out of the box it was mailed in! It weighs a whopping 13.6 pounds out of the box and I know since I put it on my scale to find out its total weight.

Aside from its heft, it's a true beauty to behold. The red enamel is gorgeous and shiny, the enamel on the inside a bright white and the lid knob a shiny gold. I had never used an enameled Dutch oven, I have a stainless steel one, so I wasn't aware that the black top edge of the pot and inside of the lid is raw cast iron. Upon doing some research on the interwebs this is apparently a normal feature and does require seasoning.

While doing some research in how to cook in the Dutch oven or how to care for it, best to hand wash, I did watch some review videos on Dutch ovens. What I have learned in that the shape of this particular Dutch oven is tapered down from the top and rounded a little at the bottom which means less surface area for browning meats and vegetables. It does have great handles that have big holes which makes handling it with pot holders or oven mitts a breeze. The enameled Dutch oven can be safely used on a medium or lower setting on a gas, electric, and induction stoves. The lid has interior ridges which assist in self-basting meats and the whole thing can go from stove to oven.

Overall I am extremely pleased with the Pioneer Woman Timeless Beauty 6-Quart Enamel on Cast Iron Holiday Dutch Oven and I keep it on the stove top just to show it off. I believe for the price, it rivals those others which cost the price of a small car.

I could not be happier with this dutch oven. I store it on a shelf in my kitchen because it is too pretty to hide in a cabinet. The decorative lid is textured with a very pretty floral design and fits snugly on top of the oven. It heats evenly after you gradually heat it up. The directions say to hand wash and immediately dry to prolong the life. That is made very easy by the nonstick coating. This would make a great gift!

Striking

The box had a huge hole that was just taped over when it arrived. The knob on the top doesn't come on the pot, and there is a circle around where the knob goes where the paint is gone. Inside the pot was full of dust and dirt on arrival.
