Carey Mulligan Wore Markarian On The Tonight Show Starring Jimmy Fallon

Carey Mulligan made an in person guest appearance on ‘The Tonight Show Starring Jimmy Fallon’ in New York City on Thursday (April 8).

If you’re wondering why the British actress is in New York and not in London ahead of this weekend’s BAFTA Awards, the actress, who has delighted critics with her role as Cassie in ‘Promising Young Woman,’ failed to make the list for Best Actress.

Viola Davis was also snubbed in the category, despite getting praised heavily for her turn as Ma Rainey in Netflix hit, ‘Ma Rainey’s Black Bottom.’

Olivia Colman was also left off the nominations list for Best Supporting Actress, following her stint in ‘The Father’, so I guess you could say she’s in esteemed company.

Carey took her seat alongside host Jimmy Fallon wearing a Markarian Elara crystal fireworks velvet strapless dress from the Fall 2021 collection.

As we all know, Carey keeps things very, very simple.  

You only need to go back as far as Sunday at the 2021 SAG Awards for that to be proven with her Prada dress, so I was pleasantly surprised to see her presenting a look with so much detail.

The embellishments aren’t the only thing worthy of note here, the gorgeous sleek silhouette, which starts from the structured bustier give the strapless dress a very modern feel.
