1913-14 This is made of peach satin (formerly peach silk) and covered in exquisite ivory lace with re-embroidered patterns done with silk thread. The lace gives hints of Orientalism (which was made popular by Paul Poiret ) with its Royal Pavillion shapes on the back panels. The rosette and belt details are done in peach silk. Robe mi-longue sans manches en panne de velours de soie rose "cloutée"de cristal sertis-griffe, de paillerons argent et perles tubulaires nacrées en satin blanc. Jupe ample drapée sur les hanches ornée d'un médaillon brodé sur la ceinture, ourlet brodé. Griffée "Paul Poiret à Paris"(fond de robe assorti, quelques perles manquantes mais très bel état).

In 1908, designer Paul Poiret commissioned illustrator Paul Iribe to create 'Les robes de Paul Poiret', a pamphlet of Poiret's Directoire Revival designs. Iribe's 'pochoir' stencilling technique applied bold, bright areas of colour that reflect Poiret's melding of classical and orientalist aesthetics.
