In Memoriam: Steve Jackson

In Memoriam: Steve Jackson

Very sad news reached us this past weekend from the far shores of Australia. Our dear friend Steve Jackson has passed away peacefully at the young age of 57.

Prior to his role as the Chief Security Officer for Qantas over the past 13 years, Steve had an illustrious career with the Australian Federal Police after having served in the Royal Navy in the UK. A true professional in all respects, Steve was a beacon in the field of aviation security with his knowledge, experience, calm demeanor and his "we can do it" attitude.

Steve was a gentleman in every sense of the word. A kind man who reached out to everyone around him and helped others in whatever way he could. A warm soul and who inspired many with his cool, calm and collected approach to life. Steve's passion, wit and his laugh will never be forgotten.

Our thoughts, prayers and most sincere condolences are with his wife, Marlene; his children Aaron, Beth and Emma; and his grandchildren who he cared for so very much. Steve spoke publicly in September 2017 at a TEDx event which can be viewed here.

You never stopped flying into the wind Jacko - we will all miss you very much indeed!

One of the good guys.

The consummate professional and gentleman. He will be missed and remembered well by all who knew him and worked with him. A massive loss.

Vale Steve Jackson. Such a loss and still so young in today's world.
