Argiope keyserlingi mating and egg sac
This past week, I've been observing a St. Andrew's Cross female and happened to visit her when she had a tiny male suitor. Then a day or so after, I saw that she had produced this egg sac.
Female body length 15 mm. Main body of egg sac 20 mm length.
''Argiope keyserlingi'' is a common species of orb-web spider found on the east coast of Australia, from central New South Wales to southern Queensland. It is very similar in appearance to the closely related north Queensland species, ''Argiope aetherea''.
