Lauren Conrad has lightened up for summer: The star's longtime hairstylist, Kristin Ess, took to Instagram with a shot of her "human doll" sporting brand-new platinum hair.
The new look is much lighter than the golden blond ombré look she's had in recent months—we're talking Christina Aguilera's level of white-blond, though Conrad's features a slight ombré effect from root to tips:
"Got to spend this morning with my human doll @laurenconrad and some of my fave ladies at @enews @cinalin @iamcattsadler {hair by me & makeup by @amynadinemakeup } just a bunch of hardworking ladies making the world go round," Ess captioned the pic.
It's certainly reminiscent of Taylor Swift's pre-Calvin-Harris-breakup hair, which she dyed bright platinum before Coachella in April. (The edgy look didn't last long for Tay, however: She's back to a vintage-y blond.)
For Conrad, the look is bright, summery departure from the more experimental dark roots/dark makeup combo she tried on the red carpet at the CFDA awards in early June. And as we've discussed, platinum is the shade of the summer, so she definitely picked the right time to be joining the company of other icy-hued stars like Jennifer Lawrence.
