It’s hard to believe that it’s been over a decade since the original show aired its final episode in 2010, but the 37-year-old is ready to break her silence.

While promoting her new memoir “Choices: To the Hills and Back Again," the reality star shared what she's learned about herself since the series ended with People.

Patridge recalled how much she has "grown" as a person since filming the OG series in her 20s.

“I was so naive and so trusting and just such a people pleaser,” Patridge said. “And I was trying to figure out who I was and what I wanted, but whenever you’re thrown into a world where you’re just pulled in every direction, you just go ... you have to live through things and feel the emotions and learn from it.”

While reminiscing about her drama-filled moments on the hit series alongside Lauren Conrad and Kristin Cavallari, she also opened up about the difficult moments in her personal life. In 2018, the mother-of-one divorced her husband, Corey Bohan, after two years of marriage.

Her memoir dives into the volatile relationship as Patridge has claimed Bohan once got physical with her. Bohan has denied the allegation, People noted.

Patridge said the end of her marriage didn’t happen fast and progressed into something messy that left her heartbroken.

“A divorce is like a death,” she said. “It’s something you mourn. And it’s really hard to go through. So going through it in the public is even harder. Everything was released publicly so I felt like I had to include that in my book because it was such a big part of my life."”

Patridge also addressed how she learned to love herself, which is why she was able to walk away from the relationship.

“I’ve learned a lot of that going through this,” she concluded. “And I’ve learned that when you’re in a bad relationship, you put up with a lot of things because you’re trying to force it to work and trying to change yourself, to make the other person happy. And that’s not good. You’ve got to notice all those signs and stop it before it gets too far.”

With her new outlook, Patridge is focused on raising her and Bohan’s 6-year-old daughter, Kirra. "I can't even explain it, but whenever you have a baby, it just changes everything," she gushed. "For the best, best way possible."

Patridge starred in “The Hills” from 2006 to 2010 and its reboot, “The Hills: New Beginnings,” from 2019 to 2021.
