Queensland lashed by rain, but flooding not ‘as extreme’ as February

Residents in southeast Queensland’s Lockyer Valley were told to evacuate because of flooding for the second time this year, as heavy rainfall that lashed the state’s north earlier in the week moved south.

There were almost 20 flood warnings in place across Queensland and thousands of people were without power late on Friday, while more than 540 roads were flooded and almost 70 schools shut.
