Staged in Berlin’s Kupferstichkabinett, the new exhibition “Women, Bulls, Old Masters” is a must-see for anyone who think to know the Spanish master: Pablo Picasso.
In the video, contemporary artist Jonas Burgert and curator Anita Beloubek-Hammer have shared their personal views on Picasso with us to celebrate this benchmark release: “There’s one time when every artist looks at Picasso again.” As a visual dialogue about one of the most powerful and fearless pioneers of creative expression, we highly recommend this short film to all artists and non-artists alike.
Gestalten is also honored to release the book “Women, Bullfights, Old Masters” to accompany this major exhibition. Ranging from black and white to colorful, the artwork represents his various styles from classic to cubistic to surrealistic. The publication not only examines Picasso’s work in a historical context, but also reevaluates it from a contemporary point of view.
