CHENNAI: Mike Hussey has been one of the most popular cricketers to have turned up for the Chennai Super Kings. His friendly nature and the ability to score consistently made him an endearing figure. He may now be the batting coach of the team, but Hussey's popularity hasn't dipped one bit. Tamil Nadu's wicketkeeper batsman N Jagadeesan, who has been part of the CSK set-up for the last couple of years, felt Hussey's inputs made him a better player.

"I have taken tips from other players but Mike Hussey but whenever I have had self-doubts or mental blocks - Hussey is the one I have always approached. Hussey is so down to earth and makes you feel good after speaking to him. He will explain the finer aspects of shot making and his inputs have immensely benefited me," Jaggi said in a chat show Homerun with AV with sports commentator Arun Venugopal on his YouTube channel Gethist Creative.
Jaggi also went on to recall an incident when Shane Watson had a go at him during an RCB trial a few years ago. "I played a switch-hit against Watson which went to the boundary. He became furious and walked up to me to say ‘what do you think of yourself? You think you can hit me like that?' He swore at me. He steamed in with intent in the subsequent balls he bowled. Soon, the coach announced that those were the last set [of deliveries] at the nets. Before Watson could take my head off, I walked out," Jaggi revealed.
Jaggi may not have made a name yet for Chennai Super Kings but he has shown glimpses of his caliber on the domestic circuit. The 24-year-old has so far hit 1174 runs from 23 FC games at an average of 39.13 with 4 centuries and as many fifties to his credit.
