Before joining Nike in June of 2003, Kobe Bryant signed a six-year deal with adidas before entering the NBA at the age of 17. During his rookie year, Bryant popularized the adidas Top Ten which was released during the 1996-97 season as part of adidas Basketball‘s Feet You Wear series. Bryant later went on to release his first signature shoe the following year, the KB8.

The Top Ten pairs were updated with modern tooling in 2010 and now return once again in a range of ’90s colorways including a “Lakers” color scheme as well as two white and black iterations with silver trim. Built for the hardwood, the pairs are found in a mix of nylon mesh and leather uppers with oversized tongue tabs, wavy overlay panels, and nylon straps which form the three stripes logos across the lateral and medial sides. Cartoon embroidery decorates the heel counter and rounding out the look are thick bulbous outsole grips.

The adidas Top Ten 2010 has officially landed in Taiwan with a stateside release yet to be announced.

Elsewhere in footwear, Clarks Originals reissues the Desert Nomad for SS23.
