Lauren Conrad to design new clothing line with best friends: Calling all Audrinas and Stephanies!

The Hills star Lauren Conrad recently revealed that she’ll be creating yet another fashion line — this time, with her best friends by her side in the design studio. Details about the collection are mum at the moment, but she did tell People that the line will have a more boutique feel, unlike the simple pieces she made for her Kohl’s diffusion line. The actress wasn’t immediately available to chat about the forthcoming venture, so I took this time to posit my own thoughts on the line-to-be:

It’s unclear whether these co-designers will be “famous” (i.e. Stephanie) or non-famous (the friends that wisely decided not to be filmed on the reality show), but we know how much Lauren loves her potentially fake friends. The girl named a dress from her previous collection the “Audrina,” and if Lauren decides to officially bring her brunette BFF onto the design side this time, I imagine her creations will be skimpy on the chest and/or midriff area with a patch or two of leather, an ode to her Justin Bobby days perhaps.

Stephanie and even Heidi could figure into the plan too, given that they’ve both rejected Spencer and thus are in Conrad’s good graces. May we suggest an image of Spencer with devil horns and an X emblazoned on a flirty, flowy floral blouse? Because, really, nothing says fall fashion like Spencer’s nasty beard.

As for the most real of Lauren’s friends, Lo is an obvious choice, but we can’t help but hit the snooze button on that collaboration. On the show, Lo was more a soundboard than the straw that stirs the drink, and her storyline got mildly interesting only when I thought she was going to get engaged in the finale. (She didn’t.)

And as many smiles as Lauren and Kristen may have exchanged at The Hills finale party, these Laguna Beach alums said goodbye to any partnership the day they began fighting over Stephen Colletti.

Now, Lauren, I’m not asking for something as risqué as Heidi’s defunct Heidiwood clothing line (I use the word clothing generously here), but with additional style aesthetics jumping on board, I’d love to see more than flowy tops and party girl dress. Did the Hills theme song teach you nothing? Live your life with arms wide open/Today is where your book begins/The rest is still unwritten…

What do you guys think of this project? Which friends should collaborate with Lauren?’
