Friday Flashback: Eclipse

Here we are once more. A new Friday, a new Flashback.

And a random one for this Friday’s Flashback. 🧛

I just thought, why not? Eclipse, book #3 in the Twilight Series, was one of my favourites, and I re-read it so many times (back then) that I wore it out and on the outside it stopped looking new, meaning it’s well-used now. 😄

For those who hadn’t read YA romanc-y books before, it was all starting to heat up on Eclipse. But if you had a huge crush on Edward (because), then that crush only helped make you read those chapters and scenes over and over again. I don’t think the movie did justice to it though, to a particular chapter, not the way that Bella described it, and not the amount of time they spent discussing the fact.

Alright, more context, so you know what I’m talking about, Chapter 20, COMPROMISE. This is the chapter I’m referring to from Eclipse.

If you can remember that correctly, you read the books a few times too. 😎

He laughed once, and then his voice was bleak. “Doesn’t everyone? I feel like there’s a line behind me, jockeying for position, waiting for me to make a big enough mistake. . . . You’re too desirable for your own good.

I mean, I wasn’t going to compare movie vs book, but what? They didn’t want to highlight how Bella was basically begging for some loving from Edward because she was. Half of the feeling on this was lost in translation from book to movie.

Then again, that’s how it usually goes. Movies don’t match the characters’ attitudes and personalities from the books all that faithfully, most of the time. Or maybe is just the actress that didn’t match it, actors in general I meant (not).

But in any case, that was today’s flashback, dearies! Hope you had a bit of fun going down memory lane with me for the vampires and romances from the Twilight Series.
