[57] ABSTRACT
Novel synthetic derivatives of vitamin D compounds are disclosed as well as processes for their synthesis. The novel compounds are 1-alpha-thio and acylated, 1-beta-thio derivatives of vitamin D compounds and the glycosylated, hydroxylated, fluorinated, and glycosylated orthoester analogues thereof.
