Definitions
- This utility model is related to a container or container to contain explosives, or container, which is intended for detonation procedures mainly in the mining industry
- Pentolite is a high-power explosive product, which is made to be used as raw material in the manufacture of explosive charges of type initiators or boosters. These initiators protect the explosive mixture they contain, allowing it to not be directly exposed to shocks or other external factors, and in turn have a greater resistance to water present in some perforations.
- Pentolite is made up of PETN (pentaerythritol tetranitrate) and TNT (trinitrotoluene). Only part of the PETN is dissolved in the TNT, the remainder being in the form of suspended crystals. This mixture remains relatively homogeneous during stirring for the preparation of the explosive charge, but when it stops stirring, the PETN crystals precipitate. In the packages used actualemten, if the Pentolite does not cool quickly, the PETN crystals precipitate and concentrate on the opposite side to the initiation of the booster with respect to the required detonators. Additionally, the filling of the packages is done in layers (2 to 3), to achieve the correct final weight of the product. This implies a time in reviewing the containers, which decreases the efficiency and productivity of the explosives preparation process. In order to overcome these deficiencies of the current packaging, a new type of packaging is presented, which presents technical advantages with conodic packaging.
- the configuration of the packages of the present utility model allows the precipitation of the PETN crystals to occur on the side where the initiation of the Pentolite occurs. This increases the probability of detonation of the Pentolite, reducing the remaining shots caused by this cause.
- Another technical advantage presented by the containers of the present utility model is that their new covers comprise ducts or blind pins, thus reducing the probability that the same lid will come out when it is badly hung, avoiding the risk of loss of mixing.
- An additional technical advantage is that with the containers of the present utility model it is possible to be filled in a single stage. This implies the reduction of the filling time per container and, as a consequence, productivity is increased. Another technical effect is that this configuration allows a different filling system than the current one to be used where instead of using a plastic container, a system with more capacity or an automatic type system is used.

- the present utility model corresponds to a container or container (1) for containing a mixture, preferably pentolite, used for the initiation of a blasting process.
- the container (1) comprises at least two parts: a lower part (2) which is intended to contain the mixture of the explosive material, and an upper part or lid (3), which is intended to maintain the structural unit of the container and prevent the mixture from leaving said container (1).
- the lower part (2) comprises an elongated hollow structure, preferably of circular section, where in a first mode, the lower part (2) has cylindrical geometry, and in a second mode, the lower part (2) has conical geometry, tapering the base of the bottom (2) of the container (1).
- Inside the lower part (2) there is a preferably cylindrical duct or pin (4), which starts from the base of the lower part (2) of the container (1), and ends at a defined distance from the end upper part of the lower part (2), where the duct or pin (4) is open at its two ends.
- the duct or pin (4) is reinforced at the base of the bottom (2) of the container (1) by a plurality of reinforcement pieces (5), which decrease the risk of buckling of the duct or pin (4) due to to the load of the mixture.
- the duct or pin (4) is arranged in an eccentric position of the section of the lower part (2) of the container (1), that is, it is located in a different position than the axis of central symmetry of the lower part (2) .
- the cover (3) comprises an opening (7) which is complemented by the upper part of the duct or pin (4) and comprises at least one opening (8) from which it extends towards the bottom of the cover ( 3) a respective duct or pin (9), and where said duct or pin (9) is closed at its bottom.
- Each duct or pin (9) is smaller in diameter than its respective opening (8), generating a conical section between the respective opening (8) and its respective duct or pin (9).
- the lid (3) comprises at least one pair of depressions (10) that allow the lid (3) to be closed with the lower part (2) of the container (1).
- the detonardor is inserted through the duct (4) and subsequently inserted into the at least one duct (9), thus remaining in the bottom of the container (1), where the highest concentration of PETN is generated .
- a safety device (12) which is fixed in the conical section through a fixing cone (12) and a fixing rod (13).
- the safety device comprises a fluted opening which allows the detonator cable to be fixed and secured in case there is traction by the detonator.
