Abstract

The present invention relates to a support for organising surgical instruments in general, mainly for ophthalmological surgery of the rear eye region, such as the vitreous body and the retina, and having variable dimensions, preferably longitudinal and equidistant consecutive divisions, oriented for bilateral or unilateral use, and on which surgical instruments, such as transfusion equipment, tubing, injection syringes, and many others, are supported, attached or inserted. The device is placed on the body of the patient and attached to the bed sheets or conventional operative field by means of a double-sided adhesive strip, velcro fastener and the like, in order to make it possible to organise surgical material going over the trunk or thorax of the patient, preventing contamination of or damage to such material that could otherwise slip or even fall on the floor, and also making it easier to remove all the material at the end of the surgical operation, since it is all organised. If the surgical operation is not in the area of the head and neck, the support can be shifted to other parts of the body, wherever it is convenient and satisfactory for the surgeon.

Description

"SURGICAL ORGANIZER"

The present refers to an organizing surgical field for general surgeries, especially for posterior segment ophthalmic surgeries such as vitreous & retina, and may have variable dimensions, with preferentially longitudinal, equidistant sequential divisions oriented for bilateral or unilateral use, for insertion, support and fixation of surgical instruments, such as infusion equipment, hoses, catheters, injectors, among many others. The device is placed over the patient's body and fixed to the conventional surgical field through double-sided tape, velcro® and the like, in order to enable the organization of surgical material that passes through the patient's trunk / thorax, preventing them from becoming contaminate or damage by slipping and even falling to the floor, making it easier to remove all material at the end of surgery.

The present object is intended to offer greater ease and practicality to professionals, especially surgeons and assistants and nurses, during preparation, execution and after surgery. The organizing device presented here allows all the instruments to be properly organized, avoiding contamination, speeding up the transfer of materials, exchange of components or instruments and also preventing them from being damaged through slips or impacts with the floor inappropriately. The practice of surgery:

Surgery is the part of the therapeutic process in which the surgeon performs a manual or instrumental intervention on the patient's body for some specific treatment, correction, adjustment or alteration of an organ or body site to be treated or modified.

The surgery requires special care, especially with hygiene / asepsis, because the risk of contamination is a factor of immense repercussion to the patient's health because it is totally vulnerable.

In addition to the hygiene / antisepsis of the site and those involved in the process, such as doctors and nurses, surgical materials and instruments should also be kept fully decontaminated, sterilized and suitable for use in the surgical procedure.

Cirurgical instruments:

Some surgical instruments and materials such as needles, injections, hoses, scalpels, surgical scissors, among many others, are essential throughout the surgery and should be adequately protected before and throughout the procedure to avoid contamination and should not be exposed without protection to prevent risks of contagion or damage.

Another important aspect is the ease of removal at the end of surgery in an organized and quick manner. Whether it is for disposal or cleaning, helping doctors and nurses to reduce the time between surgeries and the risks of self injury and injuries. Difficulties:

In posterior segment ophthalmologic surgeries, there is a need for several instruments connected to a surgical device, which end up huddling over the patient and often tangling and embarrassing each other, making it difficult to transfer the instruments to the surgeon, increasing the surgical time, besides risks of accidental injury, such as firing an endolaser fiber that is improperly aimed at the face of someone on the medical team. There is still the risk of fiber breakage either optical or endolaser (surgical material) or the possibility of it slipping off the field and reaching the ground contaminating and being damaged.

Solution:

The organizer can be used in hospitals and clinics with operating rooms and wherever they have surgeons, assistants, nurses and patients. By organizing, protecting and safeguarding surgical equipment, it is prevented from falling, contamination and damage, leading to savings by not having to open a new product. It makes the surgery look cleaner, nicer and nicer.

Therefore, the object in question was developed, an organizer to facilitate and expedite surgeries, with the great objective of assisting in the performance and quality of the surgery, avoiding the loss by contamination or damage of the surgical instruments. Aiming to facilitate and make the surgical procedure more practical, reflecting directly on the entire medical team and its value. Besides presenting several benefits, among them:

• Facilitates removal and organization of all material after surgery;

• Can be colorful, offering options for promotions, advertisements and advertising;

State of the art:

Surgical fields in general that only delimit the area to be operated are constantly used, and some add a side bag to collect liquids. Some still use side tables to support the materials, but need to be constantly shifting focus to pick up the correct material. None of them have such an organization option, which can even be coupled to the field or come separately.

The surgery organizer (2) is placed on the patient's body (13) and fixed to the sheet or conventional surgical field (14) through double-sided tape (15), velcro® (16) and the like, allowing the organization of the surgical material (11) and avoiding contamination.

The organizer (2) may optionally also accompany a rod-like guide (17) with a fixing hole (18) at its end to be attached to the instruments (11) and to facilitate passage through the dividing fields (7).

For the advantages it offers and for being truly innovative features, the "SURGICAL ORGANIZER" meets the necessary conditions to earn the Patent of Invention.
