Abstract

A container designed to contain concentrated liquid detergent and be inserted into a bottle with a spray mechanism and a plastic tube. The container is shaped like a thin cylinder with a top opening and a top circumferential rim that protrudes horizontally from the container's circumference so that when the container is inserted into the bottle, the circumferential rim rests on the bottle's top opening. The container's top opening is covered with a top seal that is removed before use. The container's bottom opening is covered with bottom seal that is punctured by the spray mechanism' plastic tube. The top opening of the container is also covered by a concave cover, with a hole at the bottom, so that when the container is inserted into the bottle and the plastic tube is inserted into the container, it passes through the hole at the bottom of the concave cover and punctures the bottom seal, enabling the concentrated liquid in the container to flow out and mix with (be diluted by) the water in the bottle, creating ready- to-use liquid detergent in a non-disposable spray bottle.

Description

Description
TECHNICAL FIELD
The present invention refers to a small disposable container that contains concentrated liquid detergent and is intended for use with a non-disposable spray bottle.
BACKGROUND ART
Millions of plastic bottles containing liquid detergents, such as window cleaners, dish detergent, and bathroom cleaners, are sold throughout the world. In many cases, the bottles are equipped with a mechanism for spraying the liquid detergent (a spray head). When the bottle is empty, it is customary to discard it and buy a new one. Using such standard bottles entails numerous problems, including: (a) ecological: discarding the bottle into the garbage after it is empty constitutes an ecological problem since millions of empty bottles arrive at waste collection sites and must be dealt with; (b) production and transportation: the need to manufacture millions of bottles entails unnecessary production and transportation costs and the need to transport the bottles, which are full of low concentration detergent along a high percentage of water, to the sales points entails high transportation costs due to the weight and volume of the full bottles; (c) user unfriendliness: the need to carry relatively large and heavy bottles home from the store is inconvenient, to say the least. The present invention offers a good and effective solution to these problems.

THE INVENTION
The main objective of the present invention is to provide a small container (1) that contains concentrated detergent (2) and is designed to be inserted into a non-disposable spray bottle (3) that has been filled with water by the user. A relatively small container (1) that contains concentrated liquid detergent (2) whereby the container (1) can be inserted into a non-disposable bottle (3) through the bottle's original opening; whereby the bottle (3) is equipped with a spray head (4) and a plastic tube (41) that is located in the bottle when the spray head (4) is assembled on the bottle; whereby the user can fill the spray bottle with tap water, purchase a relatively small container (1) of concentrated detergent, insert it through the bottle's neck, and when the spray head (4) is screwed back on to the spray bottle (3), the concentrated detergent (2) mixes with the water in the bottle (3) and the spray bottle (3) may be used like any other standard spray bottle whilst the small container (1) is still in it. After the detergent (2) in the bottle (3) is depleted, the spray head (4) may be removed, the empty container (1) extracted, the bottle (3) refilled with water, and a new container (1) containing concentrated detergent (2) may be inserted into the bottle (1), and so on and so forth.
Another objective of the present invention is to provide the said container (1) whereby it has the shape of a thin cylinder with a circumferential rim (11) around the top which protrudes slightly so that when the container (1) is inserted into the bottle (3), the circumferential rim (11) rests on the top opening (31) of the bottle (3) and prevents the container (1) from falling into the bottle (3).
Another objective of the present invention is to provide the said container (1) whereby the top opening (12) is covered with a top seal (13) that is easily removed before use; and whereby the bottom opening (14) of the container (1) is sealed by a bottom seal (15) that is punctured by the plastic tube (41) when the plastic tube is inserted into the bottle (3) and the container (1) is in place.
Another objective of the present invention is to provide the said container (1) whereby the plastic tube (41) of the spray head (4) is used to puncture the bottom seal (15) over the bottom opening (14) of the small container (1) so that the invention may be used with existing mechanisms such as spray heads with integrated plastic tubes. Another objective of the present invention is to provide the said container (1) whereby the top opening is also covered by a concave cover (16) with a hole (17) at the bottom through which the plastic tube (15) is inserted when the spray head (4) is screwed onto the bottle (3).
Another objective of the present invention is to provide the said container (1) whereby the concave cover (16) and hole (17), in addition to the narrowing of the container (1) towards the bottom, help position the plastic tube (41) and enhance its rigidity so that it may puncture the bottom seal (15) more efficiently.
The container (1), when designed and assembled as described above, can be inserted into the bottle (3) so that the circumferential rim (11) rests on the rim of the top opening (31) of the bottle (3); whereby when the plastic tube (41) is inserted into the container (1) it punctures the bottom seal (15), enabling the concentrated detergent (2) in the container (1) to flow out and mix with the water in the bottle (3).
Drawings Nos. 1 and 2 depict the container (1), subject of the present invention. The container (1) has the shape of an elongated and thin cylinder with a top opening (12) and a circumferential rim (11) that protrudes horizontally from the circumference of the container (1). The purpose of the circumferential rim (11) is to enable the container (1) to rest on the rim of the top opening (31) of the bottle (3) and prevent the container (1) from falling into the bottle (3). Thus, the diameter of the top circumferential rim (11) must be greater than the diameter the top opening of the designated bottle (3).
The top opening (12) of the container (1) has a concave cover (16) with a hole (17) at the bottom. The purpose of the concave cover (16) and hole (17) is to guide the spray mechanism when the spray head (4) is screwed on to the bottle (3) and to center the plastic tube (41) as it passes through the hole (17). The container (1) has a top seal (13) which prevents the concentrated liquid (2) from spilling out. The top seal (13) should be removed before use.
The bottom opening of the container (1) is covered by a bottom seal (15) made of a material that can be punctured relatively easily. The bottom part of the container (1) is narrower than the rest of the container (1) so as to help center and position the plastic tube (41) above the bottom seal (15) and also to prevent it from bending. The fact that the plastic tube (41) passes through the hole (17) in the bottom of the concave cover (16) and through the narrow part at the bottom of the container (1) enhances the rigidity of the plastic tube (41), enabling it puncture the bottom seal (15) quickly and efficiently.
Drawing No. 1 presents the container (1) in perspective, including its top opening (12), circumferential rim (11), top seal (13), bottom opening (14), bottom seal (15), concave cover (16), and hole (17) at the bottom of the concave cover; Drawing No. 2 presents a front view of the container (1); and Drawing No.3 presents a cross-section of the container (1).
Drawings Nos. 4 and 5 present the spray-bottle head (4) in perspective, including a plastic tube (41) that is inserted into the container (1); Drawing No. 6 presents a cross-section of the spray-bottle head (4) including a plastic tube (41) that is inserted into the container (1); and Drawing No. 7 depicts the plastic tube (41) as it is puncturing the bottom seal (15).
Drawings Nos. 8 and 10 present the container (1), in perspective, in the bottle (3); Drawing No. 11 presents a cross-section of the container (1) in the bottle (3); and Drawing No. 9 depicts the plastic tube (41) as it is puncturing the bottom seal (15).
