  • TPU has many useful properties, including elasticity, transparency, and resistance to oil, grease and abrasion. Fusion can occur between PEBA and TPU.
  • Heating above glass transition temperature or even above melting points is required depending on the similarity or dissimilarity between materials.

  • the catheter assembly can be provided (manufactured) so that the first tube T1 and the second tube T3 is fused along a portion extending from the point 107 to the end of both tube 103, 109 so as to have a common distal end.

Abstract

L'invention concerne un cathéter multitubes et son procédé de fabrication. L'ensemble comprend deux tubes (T1, T3) fusionnés ensemble pour former une tige de tube de cathéter. Chaque tube a une lumière (112, 113) s'étendant longitudinalement à travers le cathéter de son extrémité distale à son extrémité proximale. Les tubes sont fusionnés ensemble à l'aide de chaleur & pression. De la chaleur et une pression peuvent être générées par des glissements de tube thermorétractable sur un segment de tubes de cathéter tandis que des mandrins métalliques sont amenés à passer à travers chaque lumière de tube pour protéger les lumières durant une fusion. Le tube thermorétractable se rétractera une fois que de la chaleur sera appliquée. Le tube thermorétractable se rétractera et appliquera la pression demandée sur les tubes de cathéter. Un chauffage en continu fera fondre et refaçonnera les tubes de cathéter à l'intérieur du tube thermorétractable tandis que ce dernier ne sera pas affecté en raison de sa température de fusion élevée. Après refroidissement, le tube thermorétractable doit être enlevé, les mandrins métalliques sont retirés et les tubes forment le tube de cathéter uni. Un ou plusieurs des tubes peuvent être d'une dureté différente, d'un matériau différent et/ou d'une couleur différente. La différence fournira une ou plusieurs lumières résistant à la pression, une élasticité et/ou une identification de cathéter globale. L'extrémité distale du tube de cathéter uni peut être divisée, à flottement libre, étagée ou à pointe conique. Le segment proximal (non fusionné) formera des pieds d'extension de cathéter.
