Abstract

Device (11) for monitoring power lines, which device (11) includes a housing (12), which has a mainly elongated tubular shape, and which device (11) is provided with means for measuring electrical and/or mechanical properties of a power line and means for communicating the measured values to a central unit, and provided with fastening means in the form of recesses (14a-b) for fastening to a power line, where the recesses (14a-b) extend in width direction of the housing (12) of the device, at ends thereof, which recesses (14a-b) opens to each side of the device (11). There is further provided a unit for mounting and dismounting of the device to/from a power line, which unit includes a mounting basket (30) adapted to the housing (12) of the device, which mounting basket (30) is provided with means (32, 36) for retaining the device (11) in place with a given force.
