Abstract

The invention relates to a combination or composition for marking products, comprising a luminescence substance on the basis of oxides, oxide sulfides and/or oxide fluorides of lanthanide ions and a holographic substrate for receiving or reconstructing a volume hologram. The luminescence substance has a characteristic emission spectrum and, in combination with the volume hologram, can be used to authenticate and/or identify products such as substances or substance mixtures.
