It permits to print the image only after its visualization, and only if the user wants to print the image.

Description

SYSTEM AND METHOD FOR MANAGING PHOTOGRAPHS
The present invention refers to a system for managing photographs, which permits to print the photograph after it is visualized on a screen.
According to a second aspect, the invention also refers to a method for managing photographs with said system, in which the payment of the print is done after the image is visualized.
BACKGROUND OF THE INVENTION
There are currently a lot of systems for taking photographs to be used in public places. Generally, the machine takes the photographs after the payment (cash, or with a debit or credit card) , and takes one or several images. It is usual the possibility of choosing which photographs are printed.
Optionally, to these photographs some processing can be done (placing a frame, simulation of a caricature, simulation of a painting or charcoal drawing, etc.) that modifies the final result.
In some embodiment the kind of processing can be chosen. The print format can be also chosen for the definitive print.
There are also some embodiments in which in an additional screen of the machine the processing or part of it is shown.
The objective of these currently known systems is to charge an amount for one or several photographs that can be provided in different kind of means, even though usually is in paper. The previous payment of the amount is what produces or permits to take the photographs to be printed afterwards .
Therefore, the object of the present invention is to permit to take the photographs without any previous payment with the end (playful) of presenting these images (processed or not, integrated in any document, such as web page or not), on screens (television, projectors, computer screens, etc.) not integrated in the machine that takes the photographs, and their possible print and dispatch by telematic means.
SUMMARY OF THE INVENTION
With the system and the method of the invention said drawbacks can be solved, presenting other advantages that will be described.
According to a first aspect, the system for managing images according to the present invention comprises :
- means for capturing images;
- means for printing said images; and
- paying means;
and it is characterized in that it also comprises means for transmitting said images to one or more external screens placed at a distance from said means for capturing images.
Advantageously, said means for capturing, printing, paying and transmitting are connected to a control and processing unit.
Preferably, said means for transmitting said images are formed by a wired or wireless connection between one or more external screens with said control and processing unit.
If wished, said paying means comprises a reader for coded means, such as a bar code.
According to a preferred embodiment, said means for capturing images comprises a push-button pressed by the user. The system according to the present invention also comprises telematic means for sending said images.
According to a second aspect, the present invention refers to a method for managing images, comprising the steps of:
- capturing one or more images;
- visualizing said one or more images; characterized in that:
- said one or more images are transmitted to one or more external screens placed at a distance from the place where said images are captured.
Preferably, the method according to the present invention also comprises the step of printing one or more images after payment once the image (s) is (are) visualized.
If wished, said payment is done reading coded means, such as a bar code.
Furthermore, said capture of one or more images is done pressing a push-button by the user himself/herself .
The method according to the present invention can also comprise the step of sending said images in a telematic way, e.g. by a cellular phone or an email direction .
With the system and the method of the present invention the captured images are shown in one or more external screens and remote from the place where the images are taken, and always before paying any amount. The user will pay a preset amount only in the case he/she wishes a printed copy of any image.
BRIEF DESCRIPTION OF THE DRAWINGS
For a better understanding of what has been described some drawings are attached in which, diagrammatically and only as a non-limitative example, a practical case of embodiment is shown. Fig. 1 is a block diagram of the components of the system of the present invention.
DESCRIPTION OF A PREFERRED EMBODIMENT
In Fig. 1 the components of the system of the present invention are shown. Particularly, the system of the present invention comprises means for capturing images 1, means for printing said images 2, paying means 3 and transmission means 4 of said images to one or several external screens 5 placed at a distance.
The capturing means 1 of the images can be a photograph or video camera, or any suitable means.
The printing means 2 are formed preferably by a printer with photographic quality, and the transmission means 4 of the images can be e.g. a wired or wireless connection to Internet, or just a transmission cable for data or images.
All these means are interconnected by a central control and processing unit CPU, which controls the operation of the system of the present invention.
The system of the present invention also comprises interaction means 6 between the user and the system, such as push-buttons for taking the image, printing, paying, etc. This interaction means 6 can also be a tactile screen.
The paying means 3 can be conventional, i.e. a groove where coins or bills are inserted with a counter, or a system for reading coded means, such as bar codes or the like .
The method of the present invention, which is carried out by the system previously described, is as follows :
When the user wishes to take or capture an image, preferably his/her own image, he/she stands in front of the image capturing means 1. Preferably, the user presses a push-button of the interaction means 6 for taking the image, even though the capture of the image could be automatic, e.g. detecting the presence of a person in front of said capturing means 1.
Once the image is taken, this image is sent, through the means for transmitting images 4, to one or several screens 5 placed in another place.
E.g. the system of the present invention could be placed at the entrance of leisure premises, such as a discotheque, so that the persons who voluntarily want to take a picture could do it, his/her image being showed on the screens placed inside the premises.
It is planned that all the images taken by the different user are visualized in the premises screens, among publicity.
If any person inside the premises wants to print said image he/she just pays in the system, through the paying means 3, and the printing means 2 would provide a printed copy of said image.
It must be pointed out that it is planned that all the users of the system of the present invention provide a permission to show his/her image on the screens 5 and that said image could be printed by the system of the present invention.
Another possibility is to provide a ticket containing a code of that specific image when the photograph is taken. Therefore, when the ticket is subsequently read by a code reader, said photograph is shown on the screen and it could be printed if wished. Therefore, the privacy is assured and nobody could print photographs of other people. This is the only function of the ticket and the reader.
It must be pointed out that there is the possibility to send the images to cellular phones and email by any telematic suitable means (not shown in the drawing) .
Even though reference is made to a specific embodiment of the invention, it is apparent for a person skilled in the art that the described system and method for taking and printing images are susceptible of numerous variations and modifications, and that all the details cited can be substituted by other technically equivalent ones, without departing from the scope of protection defined by the attached claims.
