Abstract
The Web BYBB is designed to be a portable or mountable device that can scan the barcode of compact discs, DVD s, other types of multimedia storage and delivery devices, and any other product or item that has a barcode. It then plays a preview of contents or product trailer. The Web BYBB is comprised of a circuit board including an audio and video player, memory and a battery, along with a switch, a barcode scanner, a small display screen, either one or two speakers, and a hardwire and wireless connection, along with an optional power plug. The switch when activated, turns on the scanner. The scanner reads the product or items barcode once scanned. The Web BYBB then accesses via either a hardwired or wireless connection a website, mainframe, database, or memory. The Web BYBB then plays a movie trailer, preview of package contents, product trailer, or other tangible information, that has been uploaded to it for that specific product. The device plays the preview or trailer through a video display and/or audio speaker(s). Contains other mechanical and electrical components.
Description
Description Field of the Invention
The Web BYBB audio video player is designed to play a video and/or audio preview, product trailer, or other type of information. The audio video player is configured to be directly associated with CD's, DVD's, and other types of multimedia delivery and storage devices, and additionally designed to work with any item having a barcode or UPC label.
Background of the Invention
When a disc such as a music CD, movie DVD, software, or video game is bought, there is usually no type of preview available. One must read the listed description and view the printed pictures on the case or packaging to learn what is on the disc or device. It is the same with other multimedia as well. An audio video preview of the contents would make selection much easier for the customer and would possibly increase sales within the industry. One could view a game or movie's trailer, listen to a few seconds of each song on a music disc, preview the functionality of a software title, and more. One could also see product trailers and tangible or helpful information that has been uploaded for any item having a barcode.
Summary of the Invention
In order to aid in the understanding of this invention, it can be stated in essential summary that it is directed to an audio video player which is actuated by scanning an item's barcode. The audio video player is associated with and offers a video and/or audio preview of CD's, DVD's, other multimedia delivery and storage devices, and any item having a barcode, with previews, product trailers and tangible information by scanning and reading the items barcode and then via wired or wireless connection, accessing the information which has been uploaded to a website, mainframe, database, or it or its' hosts' memory, and then playing the accessed file. In one configuration the audio video player can be affixed to the inside of it's own casing. In another configuration the audio video player can be contained within another devices casing.
It is thus an advantage and purpose of this invention to associate an audio and video preview of the contents of CD, DVD, or other multimedia storage and delivery devices.
It is then another advantage and purpose of this invention to associate an audio video preview or product trailer for any item having a barcode.
It is then another advantage and purpose of this invention that it can be coupled with or used with any type of device that can support it such as a cellular telephone, MP device, computer, or other such device whether stationary or portable.
It is then a further advantage and purpose of this invention to provide an audio video player which can also be used to play and/or upload and/or download full length movies, music, games, software, and other types of downloadables.
The features of this invention which is believed to be novel are set forth with particularity to the claims.
Claims
1. The Web BYBB is an audio video player that is comprised of a circuit board, an audio and video memory, a battery, an audio sound and video producing device, either one or two speakers, a display screen, a controller in the form of a button or switch, a barcode scanner/ reader, and a hardwire and/or wireless connection for internet and/or other of types of communication and information transmittal and receiving. The Web BYBB sits inactive until the controller is activated by the button or switch. When activated the barcode scanner/ reader reads the product or item barcode once scanned. The Web BYBB then accesses via either a hardwired or wireless connection a website, mainframe, database, memory. The Web BYBB then plays a movie trailer, preview of package contents, product trailer, or other tangible information, that has been uploaded to it for that specific product. The device plays the preview or trailer through a video display and/or audio speaker(s).
2. The audio video player of claim 1 wherein said device is fixed to the inside of it's own casing that can be mountable or portable.
3. The audio video player of claim 1 wherein said device can alternately be assembled within any other type of device that can support it and provide a connection for it to access the uploaded information once the scanner/reader has scanned the barcode, such as a computer, telephone, and other types of hardwired and/or non portable devices along with portable, wireless and/or handheld devices such as cellular telephones, mp3 players, mp4 players, and others. These devices could then also scan the barcode to access the same information.
4. The audio video player of claim 1 wherein said device is designed to play a video and/ or audio preview or trailer of the contents of a CD, DVD, other type of multimedia device, and to also play a video and/or audio product trailer or other tangible information of other products and items.
5. The audio video player of claim 1 wherein said device has a barcode scanner/reader and thereby scans and reads barcodes.
6. The audio video player of claim 1 wherein said device plays trailers, product reviews, and other tangible information that has been uploaded in advance to a website that is accessed once the barcode is scanned.
7. The audio video player of claim 1 wherein said device is an electrical audio video player.
8. The audio video player of claim 1 and 3 wherein said device can also be used to upload and/or download and/or play full length movies, music, games, software, and other uploadables by scanning a barcode provided once the item has been purchased.
