본 발명의 일 실시예는 복수의 다운스트림 및 업스트림 대역폭들을 제어하여 전화선을 이용한 포인트-투-멀티포인트(point-to-multipoint) 네트워크 장치를 구현할 수 있다. 즉, 본 발명의 일 실시예의 응용 예로서, 포인트-투-멀티포인트 네트워크 장치가 채택되는 경우, 가정 또는 사무실은 저비용으로 가정 또는 사무실 내의 네트워크를 구축할 수 있다.
또한, 본 발명의 일 실시예는 복수의 다운스트림 및 업스트림 대역폭들을 제어할 수 있는 하나의 마스터 모뎀에 복수의 슬레이브 모뎀들을 연결하여 효율적인 네트워크를 구축할 수 있다. 필요에 따라, 마스터 모뎀과 슬레이브 모뎀들 각각은 직접적으로 별개의 외부 장치를 연결할 수도 있다.
또한, 본 발명의 일 실시예는 디지털 가입자 회선(DSL, Digital Subscriber Line) 표준에 따른 밴드 플랜(band plan)을 기초로 포인트-투-멀티포인트(point-to-multipoint) 네트워크를 구축할 수 있다. 즉, 이미 구축된 전화선을 통하여 포인트-투-멀티포인트 네트워크가 구축될 수 있다.
상기에서는 본 발명의 바람직한 실시예를 참조하여 설명하였지만, 해당 기술 분야의 숙련된 당업자는 하기의 특허 청구의 범위에 기재된 본 발명의 사상 및 영역으로부터 벗어나지 않는 범위 내에서 본 발명을 다양하게 수정 및 변경시킬 수 있음을 이해할 수 있을 것이다.
도 1은 본 발명의 일 실시예에 따른 댁내 전화선을 이용한 포인트-투-멀티포인트 네트워크 시스템(point-to-multipoint network system)을 설명하기 위한 도면이다.
도 2는 댁내 전화선을 이용한 포인트-투-멀티포인트 네트워크 장치의 일 실시예를 설명하기 위한 도면이다.

본 발명의 실시예들에 관한 설명은 본 발명의 구조적 내지 기능적 설명들을 위하여 예시된 것에 불과하므로, 본 발명의 권리범위는 본문에 설명된 실시예들에 의하여 제한되는 것으로 해석되어서는 아니 된다. 즉, 본 발명의 실시예들은 다양한 변경이 가능하고 여러 가지 형태를 가질 수 있으므로 본 발명의 기술적 사상을 실현할 수 있는 균등물들을 포함하는 것으로 이해되어야 한다.
한편, 본 발명에서 서술되는 용어의 의미는 다음과 같이 이해되어야 할 것이다.
“제1”, “제2” 등의 용어는 하나의 구성요소를 다른 구성요소로부터 구별하기 위한 것으로 이들 용어들에 의해 본 발명의 권리범위가 한정되어서는 아니 된다. 예를 들어, 제1 구성요소는 제2 구성요소로 명명될 수 있고, 유사하게 제2 구성요소도 제1 구성요소로 명명될 수 있다.
“및/또는”의 용어는 하나 이상의 관련 항목으로부터 제시가능 한 모든 조합을 포함하는 것으로 이해되어야 한다. 예를 들어, “제1 항목, 제2 항목 및/또는 제3 항목”의 의미는 "제1 항목, 제2 항목 및 제3 항목 중 적어도 하나 이상"을 의미하는 것으로, 제1, 제2 또는 제3 항목뿐만 아니라 제1, 제2 및 제3 항목들 중 2개 이상으로부터 제시될 수 있는 모든 항목의 조합을 의미한다.
어떤 구성요소가 다른 구성요소에 "연결되어" 있다고 언급된 때에는, 그 다른 구성요소에 직접적으로 연결될 수도 있지만, 중간에 다른 구성요소가 존재할 수도 있다고 이해되어야 할 것이다. 반면에, 어떤 구성요소가 다른 구성요소에 "직접 연결되어" 있다고 언급된 때에는, 중간에 다른 구성요소가 존재하지 않는 것으로 이해되어야 할 것이다. 한편, 구성요소들 간의 관계를 설명하는 다른 표현들, 즉 "~사이에"와 "바로 ~사이에" 또는 "~에 이웃하는"과 "~에 직접 이웃하는" 등도 마찬가지로 해석되어야 한다.
본 발명에서 기재된 단수의 표현은 문맥상 명백하게 다르게 뜻하지 않는 한 복수의 표현을 포함하는 것으로 이해되어야 하고, "포함하다" 또는 "가지다" 등의 용어는 설시된 특징, 숫자, 단계, 동작, 구성요소, 부분품 또는 이들을 조합한 것이 존재함을 지정하려는 것이지, 하나 또는 그 이상의 다른 특징들이나 숫자, 단계, 동작, 구성요소, 부분품 또는 이들을 조합한 것들의 존재 또는 부가 가능성을 미리 배제하지 않는 것으로 이해되어야 한다.
본 발명에서 기술한 각 단계들은 문맥상 명백하게 특정 순서를 기재하지 않은 이상 명기된 순서와 다르게 일어날 수 있다. 즉, 각 단계들은 명기된 순서와 동일하게 일어날 수도 있고 실질적으로 동시에 수행될 수도 있으며 반대의 순서대로 수행될 수도 있다.
여기서 사용되는 모든 용어들은 다르게 정의되지 않는 한, 본 발명이 속하는 기술 분야에서 통상의 지식을 가진 자에 의해 일반적으로 이해되는 것과 동일한 의미를 가지고 있다. 일반적으로 사용되는 사전에 정의되어 있는 것과 같은 용어들은 관련 기술의 문맥상 가지는 의미와 일치하는 의미를 가지는 것으로 해석되어야 하며, 본 출원에서 명백하게 정의하지 않는 한 이상적이거나 과도하게 형식적인 의미를 지니는 것으로 해석될 수 없다.
도 1은 본 발명의 일 실시예에 따른 댁내 전화선을 이용한 포인트-투-멀티포인트 네트워크 시스템(point-to-multipoint network system)을 설명하기 위한 도면이다.
도 1을 참조하면, 댁내 전화선을 이용한 포인트-투-멀티포인트 네트워크 시스템(100)은 주배선반(MDF, Main Distribution Frame)(110), DSLAM(Digital Subscriber Line Access Multiplexer)(112), 모뎀(120) 및 댁내 네트워크 시스템(130)를 포함한다.
DSLAM(112)은 모뎀(120)에서 송수신되는 데이터를 모아 백본 네트워크로 전송하는 다중화 장비로, DSLAM(112)은 가입자와 서비스 제공업체 간의 인터페이스 역할을 수행하여 가입자에게 다양한 네트워크 기능을 제공한다. 일 실시예에 따라, DSLAM(112)은 주배선반(110)에 위치할 수 있다.
모뎀(120)은 주배선반(110)은 전화선, 동축 케이블(Coaxial Cable) 또는 광케이블(Optical Fiber)로 연결될 수 있고, DSLAM(112)으로부터 전송된 신호를 복조하거나 DSLAM(112)에 전송된 신호를 변조한다. 일 실시예에 따라, 모뎀(120)은 가입자 댁내에 설치될 수 있다.
댁내 네트워크 시스템(130)은 모뎀(120)과 연결된 마스터 모뎀(132)과 복수의 슬레이브 모뎀들(134)을 포함한다. 마스터 모뎀(132)은 댁내에 위치하고, 복수의 슬레이브 모뎀들(134)과 댁내 전화선으로 연결된다. 종래의 전화선이 이용될 수 있으므로, 댁내 네트워크 시스템(130)은 저비용으로 구축될 수 있다.
이하, 도 2 내지 도 5를 참조하여 마스터 모뎀(132)과 복수의 슬레이브 모뎀들(134)의 동작을 설명하기로 한다.
도 2는 댁내 네트워크 시스템의 일 실시예를 설명하기 위한 도면이다.
도 2에서, 마스터 모뎀(132)은 복수의 다운스트림 대역폭들 중 일부(이하, 제1 대역폭)를 다운스트림 대역폭으로 할당하고, 복수의 업스트림 대역폭들 중 일부(이하, 제2 대역폭)를 업스트림 대역폭으로 할당한다. 제1 대역폭 및/또는 제2 대역폭은 비연속적인 주파수 공간으로 구성될 수 있다.
일 실시예에 따라, 마스터 모뎀(132)은 별개의 통신 인터페이스를 통하여 외부 장치(210)와 통신을 수행할 수 있다. 예를 들어, 별개의 통신 인터페이스는 이더넷 인터페이스에 상응할 수 있다.
제1 슬레이브 모뎀(134a)과 제2 슬레이브 모뎀(134b) 각각은 마스터 모뎀(132)에 의하여 할당된 제1 및 제2 대역폭들을 통하여 마스터 모뎀(132)과 각각 통신한다. 일 실시예에 따라, 슬레이브 모뎀들(134) 각각은 별개의 통신 인터페이스를 통하여 외부 장치(220 또는 230)와 통신을 수행할 수 있다. 예를 들어, 별개의 통신 인터페이스는 이더넷 인터페이스에 상응할 수 있다.
도 3은 포인트-투-멀티포인트 네트워크 시스템에 의하여 사용되는 밴드 플랜(band plan)을 설명하기 위한 도면이다.
도 3에서, 밴드 플랜은 복수의 다운스트림 대역폭들(DOWNSTREAM1, DOWNSTREAM2)과 복수의 업스트림 대역폭들(UPSTREAM1, UPSTREAM2)으로 구성된다.
일 실시예에 따라, 제1 및 제2 대역폭들 각각은 FDMA(Frequency Division Multiple Access) 방식에 의하여 결정될 수 있다.
일 실시예에 따라, 밴드 플랜은 디지털 가입자 회선(DSL, Digital Subscriber Line) 표준에 따라 결정될 수 있다. 예를 들어, 댁내의 인접한 전화선과 전파간섭(cross-talk)으로 인하여 상호 장애가 발생한 경우에는 제1 및 제2 대역폭들은 DSL(Digital Subcriber Line) 표준에 따라 결정될 수 있다. 다른 예를 들어, 댁내의 인접한 전화선과 전파간섭(cross-talk)으로 인하여 상호 장애가 발생하지 않은 경우에는 제1 및 제2 대역폭들은 임의로 결정될 수 있다.
도 4에서, 마스터 모뎀(132)은 제1 슬레이브 모뎀(134a)에 제1 다운스트림 대역폭(DOWNSTREAM1) 중 일부(310a)와 제2 다운스트림 대역폭(DOWNSTREAM2) 중 일부(310b)를 제1 대역폭으로 할당하고, 제2 슬레이브 모뎀(134b)에 제1 다운스트림 대역폭(DOWNSTREAM1) 중 일부(320a)와 제2 다운스트림 대역폭(DOWNSTREAM2) 중 일부(320b)를 할당한다. 또한, 마스터 모뎀(132)은 제1 슬레이브 모뎀(134a)에 제1 업스트림 대역폭(UPSTREAM1) 중 일부(330a)와 제2 업스트림 대역폭(UPSTREAM2) 중 일부(330b)를 제2 대역폭으로 할당하고, 제2 슬레이브 모뎀(134b)에 제1 업스트림 대역폭(UPSTREAM1) 중 일부(340a)와 제2 업스트림 대역폭(UPSTREAM2) 중 일부(340b)를 할당한다.
다시 도 2를 참조하면, 슬레이브 모뎀들(134) 각각은 마스터 모뎀(132)에 의하여 할당된 제1 및 제2 대역폭들을 통하여 마스터 모뎀(134)과 통신한다. 일 실시예에 따라, 댁내 네트워크 시스템(130)은 Full Duplex FDMA(Frequency Division Multiple Access) 방식으로 연결되고, DMT(Discrete Multi-Tone) 라인 코딩 방식으로 통신할 수 있다. 즉, 상기 마스터 모뎀(132)은 슬레이브 모뎀들(134) 각각과 Full Duplex FDMA(Frequency Division Multiple Access) 방식으로 연결되고, DMT(Discrete Multi-Tone) 라인 코딩 방식으로 통신할 수 있다.
제1 슬레이브 모뎀(134a)은 VOIP(Voice Over IP)를 지원하는 전화기(220)와 통신할 수 있고, 제2 슬레이브 모뎀(134b)은 IPTV 장치(240)와 연결된 셋탑박스(230)와 통신할 수 있다.
도 5는 댁내 네트워크 시스템의 다른 일 실시예를 설명하기 위한 도면이다.
도 5의 댁내 네트워크 시스템(130)는 도 2의 댁내 네트워크 시스템(130)와 실질적으로 유사하므로, 도 2와 다른 부분을 위주로 설명하기로 한다.
제1 및 제2 슬레이브 모뎀들(134)은 다중 접속 방식(Multiple Access Method)에 따라 적어도 하나의 외부 장치와 통신을 수행할 수 있다.
도 5에서, 제1 슬레이브 모뎀(134a)은 다중 접속 방식을 통하여 VOIP(Voice Over IP)를 지원하는 전화기(420)와 IPTV 장치(440)와 연결된 셋탑박스(430)와 통신할 수 있다. 제2 슬레이브 모뎀(134b)은 다중 접속 방식을 통하여 VOIP(Voice Over IP)를 지원하는 전화기(450), 컴퓨터(460)와 IPTV 장치(480)와 연결된 셋탑박스(470)와 통신할 수 있다.
도 6은 본 발명의 다른 일 실시예에 따른 주배선반으로부터 댁내에 이르는 전화선을 이용한 포인트-투-멀티포인트 네트워크 시스템(point-to-multipoint network system)을 설명하기 위한 도면이다.
도 6을 참조하면, 주배선반으로부터 댁내에 이르는 전화선을 이용한 포인트-투-멀티포인트 네트워크 시스템(500)은 주배선반(MDF, Main Distribution Frame)(510), DSLAM(Digital Subscriber Line Access Multiplexer)(512), 및 댁내 네트워크 시스템(520)을 포함한다.
DSLAM(512)은 도 1의 마스터 모뎀(132)을 포함하고, 일 실시예에 따라, DSLAM(112)은 주배선반(110)에 위치할 수 있다. 마스터 모뎀(132)은 복수의 다운스트림 대역폭들 중 일부(이하, 제1 대역폭)를 다운스트림 대역폭으로 할당하고 복수의 업스트림 대역폭들 중 일부(이하, 제2 대역폭)를 업스트림 대역폭으로 할당한다. 제1 대역폭 및/또는 제2 대역폭은 비연속적인 주파수 공간으로 구성될 수 있다. 따라서, 도 5의 주배선반으로부터 댁내에 이르는 전화선을 이용한 포인트-투-멀티포인트 네트워크 시스템(500)은 도 1의 모뎀(120)이 필요하지 않은 이점이 있다.
슬레이브 모뎀들(522) 각각은 주배선반(510)과 전화선으로 연결되고, DSLAM(512) 내의 마스터 모뎀(132)에 의하여 할당된 제1 및 제2 대역폭들을 통하여 DSLAM(512)과 통신한다. 일 실시예에 따라, 슬레이브 모뎀들(522) 각각은 별개의 통신 인터페이스를 통하여 외부 장치와 통신을 수행할 수 있다. 예를 들어, 별개의 통신 인터페이스는 이더넷 인터페이스에 상응할 수 있다.
한편, 도 6의 주배선반으로부터 댁내에 이르는 전화선을 이용한 포인트-투-멀티포인트 네트워크 시스템(500)은 도 1의 댁내 전화선을 이용한 포인트-투-멀티포인트 네트워크 시스템(100)과 유사하므로, 도 2 내지 도 5에 기술된 내용도 특별한 어려움없이 도 6의 포인트-투-멀티포인트 네트워크 시스템(500)에 적용될 수 있음은 자명할 것이다.
Claims (14)
- 복수의 다운스트림 대역폭들 중 일부(이하, 제1 대역폭)(상기 제1 대역폭은 비연속적인 주파수 공간으로 구성될 수 있음)를 다운스트림 대역폭으로 할당하고 복수의 업스트림 대역폭들 중 일부(이하, 제2 대역폭)(상기 제2 대역폭은 비연속적인 주파수 공간으로 구성될 수 있음)를 업스트림 대역폭으로 할당하는 댁내에 위치한 마스터 모뎀; 및댁내 전화선을 이용하여 상기 제1 및 제2 대역폭들을 통하여 상기 마스터 모뎀과 각각 통신하는 복수의 슬레이브 모뎀들을 포함하는 댁내 전화선을 이용한 포인트-투-멀티포인트 네트워크 시스템(point-to-multipoint network system).
- 제1항에 있어서, 상기 마스터 모뎀은상기 슬레이브 모뎀들 각각과 Full Duplex FDMA(Frequency Division Multiple Access) 방식으로 연결되고, DMT(Discrete Multi-Tone) 라인 코딩 방식으로 통신하는 것을 특징으로 하는 댁내 전화선을 이용한 포인트-투-멀티포인트 네트워크 시스템.
- 제1항에 있어서, 상기 제1 및 제2 대역폭들은댁내의 인접한 전화선과 전파간섭(cross-talk)으로 인하여 상호 장애가 발생한 경우에는 DSL(Digital Subcriber Line) 표준에 따라 결정되는 것을 특징으로 하는 댁내 전화선을 이용한 포인트-투-멀티포인트 네트워크 시스템.
- 제3항에 있어서, 상기 제1 및 제2 대역폭들은댁내의 인접한 전화선과 전파간섭(cross-talk)으로 인하여 상호 장애가 발생하지 않은 경우에는 임의로 결정되는 것을 특징으로 하는 댁내 전화선을 이용한 포인트-투-멀티포인트 네트워크 시스템.
- 제4항에 있어서, 상기 제1 및 제2 대역폭들 각각은FDMA(Frequency Division Multiple Access) 방식에 의하여 결정되는 것을 특징으로 하는 댁내 전화선을 이용한 포인트-투-멀티포인트 네트워크 시스템.
- 제1항에 있어서, 상기 마스터 모뎀은별개의 통신 인터페이스를 통하여 외부 장치와 통신을 수행하는 것을 특징으로 하는 댁내 전화선을 이용한 포인트-투-멀티포인트 네트워크 시스템.
- 제1항에 있어서, 상기 슬레이브 모뎀들 각각은별개의 통신 인터페이스를 통하여 외부 장치와 통신을 수행하는 것을 특징으로 하는 댁내 전화선을 이용한 포인트-투-멀티포인트 네트워크 시스템.
- 복수의 다운스트림 대역폭들 중 일부(이하, 제1 대역폭)(상기 제1 대역폭은 비연속적인 주파수 공간으로 구성될 수 있음)를 다운스트림 대역폭으로 할당하고 복수의 업스트림 대역폭들 중 일부(이하, 제2 대역폭)(상기 제2 대역폭은 비연속적인 주파수 공간으로 구성될 수 있음)를 업스트림 대역폭으로 할당하는 마스터 모뎀을 포함하는 DSLAM(Digital Subscriber Line Access Multiplexer);주배선반(MDF, Main Distribution Frame); 및상기 주배선반과 전화선으로 연결되고, 상기 제1 및 제2 대역폭들을 통하여 상기 마스터 모뎀과 각각 통신하는 복수의 슬레이브 모뎀들을 포함하는 주배선반으로부터 댁내에 이르는 전화선을 이용한 포인트-투-멀티포인트 네트워크 시스템(point-to-multipoint network system).
- 제8항에 있어서, 상기 마스터 모뎀은상기 슬레이브 모뎀들 각각과 Full Duplex FDMA(Frequency Division Multiple Access) 방식으로 연결되고, DMT(Discrete Multi-Tone) 라인 코딩 방식으로 통신하는 것을 특징으로 하는 주배선반으로부터 댁내에 이르는 전화선을 이용한 포인트-투-멀티포인트 네트워크 시스템.

- 제8항에 있어서, 상기 슬레이브 모뎀들 각각은별개의 통신 인터페이스를 통하여 외부 장치와 통신을 수행하는 것을 특징으로 하는 주배선반으로부터 댁내에 이르는 전화선을 이용한 포인트-투-멀티포인트 네트워크 시스템.
